    Abstract: A shear sensor apparatus may be used to sense shear forces between a first body and a second body. Illustratively, the first body may be a patient and the second body may be a hospital bed. The shear sensor apparatus may comprise a first piece and a second piece that moves along a shear plane. A sensor may be interposed between the first and second pieces. The sensor may comprise a strain gage. The sensor may comprise a flexible material to which the strain gage is mounted.
