  • Patent number: 6772634
Abstract: The system provides a means for identifying the opposite ends of each particular conduit of an array of conduits laidout in a building. The system includes a sonic transmitter and a sonic receiver which are units that are separate from each other and portable. The transmitter is connected to a sonic output transducer mounted on a wand which semi-rigid allowing it to be placed at an open end of a conduit and emit a sonic signal thereinto and through the conduit. The receiver is connected to sonic input transducer mounted on another wand which is semi-rigid allowing it to be placed at the opposite open end of the conduit and receive the sonic signal transmitted through the conduit. The sonic transducers may be moved from one of the open ends to another in the array until the input transducer receives the transmitted signal.

  • Patent number: 5921737
Abstract: A spacer for filling the gap between an electrical mounting bracket and an electrical mounting plate of an electrical junction box and thereby enabling the bracket to be securely screwed onto the plate is dimensioned to fit between the outer ends of the bracket and the plate. The spacer includes protruding members and receptacles which are located at corresponding end portions of opposite faces thereof and which enable a plurality of spacers to be positioned on one another in a face to face relationship with the protruding members fitting into the receptacles so as to form a solid stack. Selection of the number of spacers in the stack enables the thickness of the stack to be adjusted and thereby accomodate various widths of gaps between the outer ends of the bracket and the plate. The spacer also has a centrally located hole for the mounting screw.

  • Patent number: 5877686
Abstract: The theft protection system includes a base unit which is sufficiently compact that it may be positioned in a pocket of a golf bag and sense unauthorized removal thereof by a thief. The base unit has a housing containing a tilt sensor which includes an electrically conducting ball positioned within a hemispherically split chamber which in response to tilt or other movement of the sensor (and golf bag) rolls into a position in which it allows current to flow through the sensor and into either just an alarm in a first embodiment or into both an alarm and a transmitter in a second embodiment. The transmitter emits a signal to a remote unit which is sufficiently compact that it may be carried by a user and which includes a receiver and an auditory or vibration alarm. The receiver activates the auditory or vibration alarm in response to receipt of the signal from the transmitter thereby alerting the user to theft or attempted theft of the golf bag.
