  • Patent number: 6758204
Abstract: A compound bow with a short axle to axle length is disclosed. The bow has a relatively long brace height and a relatively short power stroke. The bow includes a riser with a forwardly disposed grip, a rearwardly disposed vertically extending portion, which makes up most of the length of the riser. The riser further includes a limb-engaging portion extending forwardly from each end of the vertically extending portion so that the limb-engaging portions are substantially in vertical alignment with the grip. A resiliently flexible limb extends at a steep rearward angle from each of the limb-engaging portions. In addition, the riser can be made with slideable end portions so that the brace height and draw length of the bow can be adjusted to an individual user's preference.

  • Patent number: 6161532
Abstract: The invention comprises an archery bow with a drawlock device adapted for use with an overdraw arrow rest. The device includes an elongated mounting bracket attached at its forward end to the bow's handle, and having intermediate its forward and rearward ends an overdraw arrow rest. The device further includes a draw tube attached to the rearward end of the mounting bracket and a draw rod in telescoping engagement with the draw tube. In a preferred embodiment, the draw tube can be attached to the mounting bracket at a selectable angle to align with the axis of the arrow between nock point and arrow rest after vertical adjustment to a tuned knocking point. The back end of the draw rod supports a bow string mechanical release. A latching device locks and holds the draw rod at a full draw position when the bow string is drawn beyond the full draw position.

  • Patent number: 6032661
Abstract: A mechanical string release with safety lock is disclosed. The release is particularly for use with an archery drawlock device to prevent accidental release of a bow string when the drawlock is carried in drawn and latched condition. The release has a trigger extending outward from the body. The safety lock comprises a bar rotatably mounted on the body adjacent the trigger. The bar is adapted to selectively engage and detain the trigger upon rotation of the bar in one direction, thereby preventing actuation of the trigger. The bar also is adapted to selectively disengage the trigger upon counter rotation of the bar, thereby allowing actuation of the trigger. In the preferred embodiment, the bar is rotatably mounted on a pin attached to the body.

  • Patent number: 5944004
Abstract: The invention comprises a combination stabilizer/drawlock device adapted for use with an overdraw arrow rest in archery and bowhunting. The stabilizer/drawlock device includes an elongated mounting bracket having near its forward end a bolt slot for attaching the bracket to an archery bow's handle, and having intermediate its forward and rearward ends a support for an overdraw arrow rest that permits the arrow rest to be positioned at a selectable distance to the rear of the bow's handle. The device further includes a draw tube attached to the rearward end of the mounting bracket and a draw rod in telescoping engagement with the draw tube. The draw tube can be attached to the bow at a selectable angle or permitted to pivot freely to align with the axis of the arrow between nock point and arrow rest after vertical adjustment to a tuned nocking point. The back end of the draw rod supports a bow string mechanical release.

  • Patent number: 5738256
Abstract: An adaptable aiming support device includes a waist belt for securing the device to a person's waist. A rigid base plate is affixed to the waist belt and includes a bracket mounted thereon. An extendible and retractable support rod is mounted to and pivotable upon a pivot pin disposed within the bracket. The support rod extends from the bracket and includes a primary tube and a secondary tube in adjustable telescoping engagement with the primary tube. The distal end of the support rod is adapted to receive one of a set of interchangeable endpieces for supporting a device to be aimed (e.g., a gun, a camera, a binocular). A quick release pin mechanism is provided at the distal end to attach/remove a given endpiece (of the set of interchangeable endpieces) thereto/therefrom quickly and easily.
