  • Feedlock and method for extruding planar laminates

    Abstract: A feedblock is provided for producing a laminated plastic sheet with each layer of the laminated sheet being of substantially uniform thickness. The feedblock includes a plurality of lamella channels each of which is of non-rectangular cross-sectional shape. The particular non-rectangular cross-sectional shape of each lamella channel is selected to offset the tendency of the extruded plastic to thin and spread non-uniformly. Thus, the thinning and spreading of the extruded plastic will urge the plastic into a layer of substantially uniform thickness.
