  • Publication number: 20240153938
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a first transistor array over a semiconductor substrate and is distributed among a first plurality of first transistor banks. A second transistor array in or over the semiconductor substrate is distributed among a second plurality of second transistor banks. A first one of the first transistor banks is located between a first one and a second one of the second transistor banks, and the second one of the second transistor banks is located between the first one of the first transistor banks and a second one of the first transistor banks. The first transistor array and the second transistor array may be alternately operated to implement a voltage-conversion integrated circuit.

  • Publication number: 20200161876
Abstract: A method for combining identical multiple modular battery packs into one multi-pack system using a battery management system (BMS) and an external interface. The method including energizing the system by electrically connecting one or more of the modular battery packs at a time, having the BMS read voltages off each of the modular battery packs to determine when to make an electrical connection of the modular battery packs in a parallel configuration, and selecting which of the modular battery pack electrically connects to the system based on inputs from the external interface that signifies charging or discharging actions of the modular battery packs. Also disclosed is system for combining cells in a modular battery pack.

  • Publication number: 20200136965
Abstract: A method for routing CAN or CAN-FD frames by receiving at least a portion of an incoming frame; applying a programmed policy to determine to which of one or more destination interfaces the incoming frame should be forwarded, at any time when the policy can be evaluated against the incoming frame, even if before the incoming frame is received in its entirety; and initiating queuing or immediate transmission of the received frame on the destination interfaces, possibly before the incoming frame has been received in its received entirety. The method may include applying a programmed policy to the incoming frame which includes a rate limit, specifying the rate at which the policy may forward frames. And may further include enacting a frame modification during the reception or transmission, with the modification further encoded within the programmed policy modification of the CAN frame as it is received or transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20180056808
Abstract: A battery management system including sheets, a buffer circuit, and a master management system. The sheets each include energy storage devices and an active balancing circuit configured to use power received from a portion of the devices to charge a lowest voltage one of the devices. The master management system uses information received from the active balancing circuit of each of the sheets to identify a second portion of the sheets and instructs the buffer circuit to receive first power from a first portion of the sheets, and send at least a portion of the first power to the second portion of the sheets. The battery management system may be included in an electric vehicle. Each of the sheets may include a communication hardware module that sends a parameter to the master management system, which the master management system may send in a data package to an external computing system.

  • Patent number: 8915791
Abstract: A convertible toy includes a body portion and a base selectively coupled to the body portion. The body portion includes a seat portion, a first pair of leg portions extending from the seat portion, and a first axle extending between the first pair of leg portions. The body portion also includes a second pair of leg portions extending from the seat portion and a second axle extending between the second pair of leg portions. The base includes a curved support portion, a first coupling member coupled to the curved support portion, and a second coupling member coupled to the curved support portion. The first axle of the body portion is selectively coupled to the first coupling member in at least one degree of freedom and the second axle of the body portion is selectively coupled to the second coupling member in at least two degrees of freedom.
