  • Patent number: 4684179
Abstract: A slip ring assembly for an alternator or like electrical apparatus is disclosed which is configured for efficient and accurate fabrication. The assembly includes a jig-like positioning member upon which first and second annular slip ring members, and respective first and second terminals, can be pre-assembled. These pre-assembled components are positionable within a molding assembly for formation of the body of the slip ring assembly.

  • Patent number: 4645962
Abstract: A slip ring assembly for an alternator or like electrical apparatus is disclosed which has been particularly configured for highly efficient formation by an injection molding process. The assembly includes a unitary body configured for mounting on the rotor shaft of the associated apparatus, with the assembly further including first and second axially spaced slip ring members positioned on the body. First and second terminals are provided which are respectively electrically joined to the first and second slip ring members, with the terminals extending axially of the body and outwardly of an end of the body which is adjacent to the first slip ring member. The configuration of the body of the assembly is such that it can be very efficiently injection molded, with the slip ring members and terminal elements thereafter positioned on the body for completing fabrication of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4618205
Abstract: A light fixture for receipt of a wedge base bulb which is adapted to be surface mounted. The fixture includes a base plate member having a front side and a rear side. A socket member is molded integrally with the base member and extends outwardly from the rear side thereof. The socket member has a front section for receipt of a portion of the bulb and a rear section for receipt of the base portion of the bulb. The rear section is formed with a pair of spaced apart channels which receive and retain connector pins therein. The connector pins are formed to cooperate with surfaces formed in the channels to snap the connector pins in position within the rear section of the base portion. The connector pins have a lead receiving end portion and a bulb receiving end portion. The lead receiving end portion is formed as a male portion of a spade-type connector. The bulb receiving end portion is formed with clip sections which receive and retain the base portion of the bulb and contact the contact leads of the bulb.

  • Patent number: 4157585
Abstract: The light fixture of the present invention includes an open frame, a mounting plate covering one side of the frame, and a lens covering the opposite side of the frame. The mounting plate is a metal stamping which has an integrally formed bracket that is adapted to carry and support a pair of light bulbs, a first light bulb for normal illumination, and a second light bulb for reduced illumination during the night. The light bulbs are disposed in a pair of side-by-side openings in the bracket, and arcuate flange segments extend around a portion of each opening to supportively engage the cylindrical base at one end of a light bulb. A pair of terminal clips are secured to the frame beneath the bracket, with each terminal clip including a contact portion disposed in registry with one of the openings in the bracket, so that each terminal clip contact portion can engage a contact point at the end of a light bulb.

  • Patent number: 4141617
Abstract: An improved light fixture for mounting on a vehicle is disclosed. The fixture has connectors which can make electrical contact with a lead wire by pushing the loop of a lead through a lead aperture past the connector and then pulling the lead in the opposite direction so that the cutting edge of the connector interlocks the lead and makes electrical contact with the lead wire. The fixture is provided with means for holding the lead firmly in interlocking relationship with the fixture to insure that electrical contact is maintained.
