  • Patent number: 4124676
Abstract: A composite article having a first layer formed of one material and a second layer of a second material, said layers being mechanically bonded together by mating projections extending from one layer into cavities of said other layer, said cavities having inwardly diverging surfaces for receiving said projections to preclude axial separation of said layers. The disclosure also includes a process for the manufacture of such articles.

  • Patent number: 4073228
Abstract: A trash compactor using a dolly as a receptacle for the trash to be compacted. The dolly is normally spring supported ready for movement into and out of the compactor, but when in the compactor and subjected to compacting pressure, the dolly is pressed downwardly, upon the beams of the main compactor frame which then takes the full compacting pressures.A novel construction of the dolly and compactor floor of the main frame makes such transfer of load possible. The compacting pressure is developed by four hydraulic cylinders, all of which are mounted on a common plate. The rod ends of the two center cylinders are connected to the top member of the main frame and the cylinder ends are connected to the common plate. The rod ends of the remaining two cylinders are connected to the main compacting plate with the cylinder ends mounted on the common plate. With the four cylinders mounted in this manner, twice the movement of the compacting ram is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4043727
Abstract: A mold for forming O-ring seals free of flash at their inside and outside diameters. The mold includes a first mold section having a frustrum extending from a surface thereof and a second mold section having a cavity for receiving said frustrum, said frustrum and recess having annular grooves juxtaposed to define a mold cavity for an O-ring seal. Mating surfaces of the frustrum and recess act to seal one side of the cavity while spaced surfaces on the opposite side of the cavity define an annular orifice extending into said mold cavity. The mold further includes a loading chamber and means for injecting a seal composition through said orifice into said mold cavity for curing.
