  • Patent number: 4092144
Abstract: The disclosed oxazolidines are useful as anti-algal and anti-viral agents. The compounds are of a low order of toxicity to warm-blooded animals.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 8, 1976
Date of Patent: May 30, 1978
    Assignee: IMC Chemical Group, Inc.
    Inventor: Jerry Hoyt Hunsucker
  • Patent number: 4081411
Abstract: A water-dispersed coating composition of a short oil alkyd resin and an alkanolamine represented by the formula ##STR1## where R is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or hydroxymethyl.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 1976
Date of Patent: March 28, 1978
    Assignee: IMC Chemical Group, Inc.
    Inventor: Jerry Hoyt Hunsucker
  • Patent number: 4042520
Abstract: A thermogenic system based on exothermic chemical reactions for heating consumer-type products as dispensed from suitable packages. The system includes the redox reactions of hydrogen peroxide as the oxidant and as the reductant compounds of the general oxazolidine formula ##STR1## wherein R and R' may be the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and substituted alkyl such as hydroxyalkyl e.g. hydroxymethyl. The effectiveness of the system can be enhanced by the addition of a catalyst selected from the group consisting of p-toluene sulfonic acid, iron filings, and iron salts of either the ferrous of ferric ions such as sulfates and halides thereof e.g. FeSO.sub.4 and FeCl.sub.3.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 5, 1976
Date of Patent: August 16, 1977
    Assignee: IMC Chemical Group, Inc.
Inventors: John Adams Frump, Jerry Hoyt Hunsucker
  • Patent number: 4039495
Abstract: A water-dispersed coating composition of a short oil alkyd resin and tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane. The tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane improves the flexibility of coatings thereof without undue loss of hardness.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 1976
Date of Patent: August 2, 1977
    Assignee: IMC Chemical Group, Inc.
    Inventor: Jerry Hoyt Hunsucker
  • Patent number: 4022909
Abstract: A method of inhibiting the growth of bacteria by contacting the bacteria and/or the environment inhabited by them with a compound represented by the general formula ##STR1## where R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group of from 7 to 15 carbon atoms and X is a halogen atom.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 6, 1976
Date of Patent: May 10, 1977
    Assignee: IMC Chemical Group, Inc.
    Inventor: Jerry Hoyt Hunsucker
  • Patent number: 4007274
Abstract: A method of controlling the growth of bacteria and fungi by applying to the environment inhabited by them a compound represented by the formula ##STR1## where R and R' are hydrogen, methyl, hydroxymethyl or ethyl and can be the same or different.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 1976
Date of Patent: February 8, 1977
    Assignee: IMC Chemical Group, Inc.
    Inventor: Jerry Hoyt Hunsucker
