  • Patent number: 11238225
Abstract: Examples associated with reading difficulty level based resource recommendation are disclosed. One example may involve instructions stored on a computer readable medium. The instructions, when executed on a computer, may cause the computer to obtain a set of candidate resources related to a source document. The candidate resources may be obtained based on content extracted from the source document. The instructions may also cause the computer to identify reading difficulty levels of members of the set of candidate resources. The instructions may also cause the computer to recommend a selected candidate resource to a user. The selected candidate resource may be recommended based on subject matter similarity between the selected candidate resource and the source document. The selected candidate resource may also be recommended based on reading difficulty level similarity between the selected candidate resource and the source document.

  • Patent number: 10891334
Abstract: A learning graph is generated for documents according to a sequencing approach. The learning graph includes nodes corresponding to the documents and edges. Each edge connects two of the nodes and indicates a sequencing relationship between two of the documents to which the two of the nodes correspond that specifies an order in which the two of the documents are to be reviewed in satisfaction of the learning goal. The learning graph is a directed graph specifying a learning path through the documents to achieve a learning goal in relation to a subject.

  • Patent number: 10417338
Abstract: Systems and methods associated with external resource identification are disclosed. One example method may be embodied on a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions. The instructions, when executed by a computer may cause the computer to perform the method. The method includes classifying a segment of a document into a member of a set of topics discussed within the document. The method also includes identifying, based on the structure of the segment and keywords from the segment, information that a reader of the document could seek upon reading the segment. The method also includes obtaining, based on the member of the set of topics, a set of candidate external resources that potentially contain the information. The method also includes presenting, in response to a user interaction with the document, a member of the set of candidate external resources identified as being likely to contain the information.

  • Patent number: 9405750
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure may include methods, systems, and computer readable media with executable instructions. An example method for determining document structure similarity can include segmenting path sequences (206) of Document Object Model (DOM) trees (120, 462) from a number of web pages (202) into B components (561). Path signals (210) corresponding to the path sequences (206) are determined based on a count of the occurrences of particular paths in the Bthe component (571), and unique path signals (210) are transformed into discrete wavelet signals (214)(572). The discrete wavelet signals (214) are analyzed at multiple DOM tree resolution levels (573).

  • Patent number: 9218322
Abstract: A method for producing web page content includes identifying blocks within a web page. The blocks are selectively assembled into sections. The sections are selectively assembled into article candidates. An article candidate that includes article content is distinguished from article candidates that do not include article content. Content is produced only from the article candidate distinguished as including article content.

  • Patent number: 8914018
Abstract: In a communication network architecture including mobile equipment that employs multiple functions selectable for use by the user, the functions having respective measurable parameters, a service provider monitors the user's behavior with, and use of, the mobile equipment. An agent, such as software installed on-board the mobile equipment, measures parameters that are related to the user's behavior and use of the mobile equipment, and communicates the measured parameters to the service provider, over the communication network. The agent detects change of such user behavior and use, and accordingly changes parameters to measure and report on.

  • Patent number: 8819028
Abstract: A method and system for extracting Web content is disclosed. In one embodiment, Web content in a Webpage is extracted by identifying paragraphs in the Web content based on line-break node determination. A range of text-body associated with the identified paragraphs is then identified using a maximum scoring subsequence. Further, the identified text-body is refined using a heuristic rule of substantially horizontal alignment. Furthermore, one or more titles and one or more images associated with the Web content are extracted. Moreover, the Web content including the identified paragraphs, the one or more titles and the one or more images are outputted.

  • Patent number: 8762076
Abstract: Probe configuration is achieved in a measurement system in which probes are given possible configuration data depending upon conditions in an area relevant to the area of the probe. The possible probe configurations include global boundaries, such as time, and each probe then, based upon the possible configurations, selects a configuration. In one embodiment, the probe may interact with a central processor to further define the probe configuration. In one embodiment, probes may communicate with other probes, both to help define their operating environment and to optionally provide configuration data to another probe.
