  • Patent number: 5536210
Abstract: An amusement apparatus comprising an elongated flume which has a fluid medium provided therein. A plurality of passenger vehicles are carried in the flume. Lifting mechanisms are provided for selectively raising and lowering various areas of the flume causing the fluid medium to travel as a wave in a continuous path around the flume and propel passenger vehicles floated thereon.

  • Patent number: 5061211
Abstract: An amusement ride car is disclosed as having a pair of driving propellers mounted at the rear of the car operating in the manner of an air boat. The propellers are driven individually, and each is arranged for forward and reverse directional rotation thereby permitting the forward and reverse movement of the car as well as turning movement thereof when opposite rotation is effected. The car can be supported for near frictional movement upon a riding platform by means of water, caster wheels, or the combination thereof, or by means of air flotation principles. Rotational speed of the propellers, and their direction of rotation, is under control of control devices made available for one of the passengers.

  • Patent number: 4971314
Abstract: The subject matter of the disclosure is an amusement ride system having one or more passenger-carrying cars adapted for movement on an air flotation, rotating platform arranged at an angle to the horizontal plane. The cars are brought to the top side of the angled platform and allowed to free fall under gravity to the lower side of the platform. As the cars so descend, they bump into other cars and railings so that they experience random movement and rotation. Another embodiment utilizes roller ball devices instead of air flotation for providing free wheeling, random motion to the cars.

  • Patent number: 4429867
Abstract: A portable amusement device wherein flotation of participants occurs on a continuous basis within flotation devices comprises a plurality of trough defining segments each being formed with double side walls and end walls with the double side walls defining a hollow section to permit nesting of the individual segments for shipment and storage. The trough segments are joined to one another to form a continous trough with a pump in at least one hollow section to continuously move a flotation medium throughout the trough and thus propel participants therethrough.
