Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the hydrophobic treatment of pigment particles comprising contacting said pigment particles with one or more silicone-based materials, that are substantially free of silicon-hydrogen bonds and fluorine, producing hydrophobic, non-covalently bound, modified pigment particles. Additionally, the present invention provides personal care compositions comprising said modified or coated pigment particles.
