Patent number: 9316062Abstract: A triple-sealed ESP connection provides a first seal at the upper end of a coiled tubing to limit the migration of vapors from the interior of the coiled tubing into the annulus at a wellhead and a second seal to prevent migration of the vapors from the annulus of the wellhead to the exterior surface of the wellhead. This triple-sealed arrangement can be accomplished by providing a threaded connection on an upper end of the coiled tubing to which is attached the sealable shroud for the electrical conductor splice which sealably connects with the wellhead thereby providing a sealed upper end to the coiled tubing and a second seal on the shroud and a seal at the wellhead. The second seal in both cases is the seal that can be either a metal-to-metal or other type of compressive seal arrangement or a sealed tubing arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2011Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Assignee: QUICK CONNECTORS, INC.Inventors: Tod D. Patent number: 4523886Abstract: Container handlers comprise a plurality of double-acting hydraulic cylinders to effect the various side shift, twist lock, tilt, height adjustment, and spread modes of operation. Separate control valves and hoses, entrained over the mast assembly having the attachment thereon, are required to effect such functions selectively. This invention is directed to a programmed electro-hydraulic control circuit when reduces the required number of hoses to two and provides a non-complex system which can be operated expeditiously.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1982Date of Patent: June 18, 1985Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Jerry L. Patent number: 4509409Abstract: This invention relates to a pump arrangement (54) for use in a linear fluid operated device having a reciprocating piston (14) separating a first active fluid chamber (30) and a second chamber (32) which eliminates the problem associated with fluid leakage buildup developing in the second chamber. The pump arrangement (54) is connected to the reciprocating piston (14) and pumps leakage fluid present in the second chamber (32) from the second chamber (32) and into the first chamber (30) in response to a force of a preselected minimum magnitude being applied to the pump arrangement (54). Thus, the problems of inefficient linear fluid operated device operation, reduced piston stroke length, external fluid leakage, and erratic piston travel speed are eliminated. The pump arrangement (54) is particularly suited for use in a single acting linear hydraulic jack (12) such as used on a material handling vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1983Date of Patent: April 9, 1985Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Jerry L. Patent number: 4459081Abstract: The operator of a lift truck or other load supporting vehicle (11) having a tiltable mast (12, 12a) is alerted as the mast (12, 12a) tilts beyond a predetermined orientation by a temporarily slowing of the rate of tilting movement. Return motion of the mast (12, 12a) may be unimpeded. The operator is reliably made aware when the mast (12, 12a) reaches a predetermined limit but may continue the tilting motion when that is necessary for such purposes as traveling the vehicle (11) under overhead obstructions. In systems where the mast (12, 12a) is tilted by fluid motors (20, 20a), the automatic tilt speed reduction may be realized with a valve (33, 33a) which temporarily introduces a one way flow restriction (49) into the fluid flow path (28, 28a) between the motors (20, 20a) and pressurized fluid source (27, 27a), the valve (33, 33a) being actuated by inclination sensing mechanism (23, 23a).Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1982Date of Patent: July 10, 1984Assignee: Cameron Iron Works, Inc.Inventor: Jerry L. Patent number: 4392772Abstract: A load lifting carriage (12) has horizontal rails (24, 26), vertical side members (28, 30), forks (16, 18) slidably supported on the rails (24, 26), cylinders (32, 34) having outer jackets (36, 40) connected to the vertical members (16, 18) and cylinder rods (38, 42), and couplers (44, 46) which couple the rods (38, 42) to the forks (16, 18) to permit the forks (16, 18) to be simultaneously positioned at one side or the other side of the centerline of the carriage (12) or at their full out position. The carriage overcomes problems, such as on a fork lift truck, relating to laterally shifting the forks to certain positions on the carriage, the use of heavy sub-carriages which support and laterally shift the forks, and damage to the cylinders, which are rigidly connected to the forks, due to excessive impact.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1980Date of Patent: July 12, 1983Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Jerry L. Patent number: 4366883Abstract: Lift trucks (12) having two laterally spaced apart motors (56,58) for lifting a load (16) on a carriage (14) provide excellent forward visability for operators thereof. When the load (16) is unevenly disposed upon the carriage (14), or the lift truck (12) encounters uneven terrain, the lifting components of the lift truck (12) are subjected to unequal stresses. Such unequal stresses, if uncorrected, reduce the useful life of the lifting components, particularly a pair of chain assemblies (70,72) associated with the carriage (14). A load equalizing system (91) maintains substantially equal tension in the pair of chain assemblies (70,72) when off-center loading is encountered. The load equalizing system (91) permits one motor (56 or 58) to move a predetermined distance relative the other (58 or 56) in response to off-center loading, which equalizes tension of the chain assemblies (70,72) and which thus extends the useful operational life of the lifting components.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1980Date of Patent: January 4, 1983Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Jerry L. Patent number: 4360309Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder mount assembly (50) for a cylinder (42) having first and second ends (52,64) includes a spherical load bearing surface (96) located at one of said first and second ends (52,64), which has a diameter (98) which is less than the diameter of the cylinder housing (100). Accordingly, the mount assembly (50) is smaller and more compact than prior art mounts and the cylindrical load bearing surface (96) allows the hydraulic cylinder (42) to pivot with three degrees of freedom so as to avoid any bending moments or other stresses. The mount can be used to mount hydraulic cylinders for a carriage (14) of a lift truck (10) so as to afford an overall compact design.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1980Date of Patent: November 23, 1982Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Jerry L. Patent number: 4335992Abstract: A material handling device such as a lift truck (10) includes a pair of material handling forks (16,18) mounted on a carriage (22) that is movable upwardly and downwardly on a mast (14) by a hydraulic lift cylinder (104). The material handling forks (16,18), which are usable to pick up, transport, and deposit articles, must be positioned properly under the article. A hydraulic system (102) is included with tracks (22,24) mounted on the carriage (20) to permit selective transverse movement of the forks (16,18) on the carriage (20) from an abutting position to a fully extended position. The hydraulic circuit (102) is pressure responsive to the pressure in the lift cylinder (104).Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1980Date of Patent: June 22, 1982Assignee: Towmotor CorporationInventor: Jerry L.
