  • Publication number: 20070287814
Abstract: This invention relates to catalyst compositions, methods, and polymers encompassing a Group 4 metallocene with bridging ?5-cyclopentadienyl-type ligands, in combination with a cocatalyst and an activator-support. The compositions and methods disclosed herein provide ethylene polymers with low levels of long chain branching.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 1, 2006
    Publication date: December 13, 2007
Applicant: Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, L.P.
Inventors: Michael Jensen, Joel Martin, Max McDaniel, David Rolfing, Qing Yang, Matthew Thorn, Ashish Sukhadia, Youlu Yu, Jerry Lanier
  • Publication number: 20070197374
Abstract: This invention relates to catalyst compositions, methods, and polymers encompassing at least one first Group 4 metallocene compound comprising bridging ?5-cyclopentadienyl-type ligands, in combination with at least one second Group 4 metallocene with non-bridging ?5-cyclopentadienyl-type ligands, typically in combination with at least one cocatalyst, and at least one activator. The compositions and methods disclosed herein provide ethylene polymers with a bimodal molecular weight distribution.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 22, 2006
    Publication date: August 23, 2007
Inventors: Qing Yang, Kumudini Jayaratne, Michael Jensen, Max McDaniel, Joel Martin, Matthew Thorn, Jerry Lanier, Tony Crain
  • Publication number: 20070078238
Abstract: Multiple components are selected, conveyed, and measured in a polymerization system. A control system adjusts the system variables to the desired values. Portions of the components can be fed to a pre-contactor before introduction into the polymerization reactor. The catalyst component concentrations and residence times are tightly controlled in the pre-contactor to affect product properties. The pre-contactor can be a single or multiple combinations of a CSTR or plug flow pre-contactors.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 30, 2005
    Publication date: April 5, 2007
Inventors: David Burns, Donald Verser, Elizabeth Benham, Max McDaniel, John Hottovy, Dale Zellers, Penny Zellers, Clay Thurman, David Lockman, John Lawmaster, Matthew Haberly, Thomas Smith, Jerry Lanier, Matthew Thorn
