  • Publication number: 20070143435
Abstract: Included are embodiments for saving instant messages. At least one embodiment of a method includes establishing a connection with a sender client and establishing a connection with a first recipient client and receiving an instant message from the sender client, the instant message configured for delivery to the first recipient client. Some embodiments include saving a copy of the received instant message and sending the received instant message to the first recipient client. Still some embodiments include, in response to a severance of the connection with the first recipient client, determining whether the sent instant message has been viewed by a recipient at the first recipient client.

  • Publication number: 20070136427
Abstract: Methods, computer programs, and apparatus for performing format conversion of a file attached to an electronic message. A message entered by a user is accepted. The user's selection of a file is also accepted, and the file is copied for accompanying the message as a file attachment. The file attachment is in a first file format of a file category. The file attachment is converted from the first file format to a second file format of the file category. The message entered by the user is transmitted, and the transmitted message is accompanied by the converted file attachment in the second file format of the file category.

  • Publication number: 20070124116
Abstract: A system and method of verifying metadata in a measurement processing system is described. Each combination of metadata is associated with a key, and the keys are used to verify that operations performed using the measurements are valid based on the metadata of the respective measurements. Embodiments allow metadata verification to be made prior to operating on measurements. Embodiments also minimize the processing that results from making such checks redundantly causing slowdown in the measurement processing. This additionally makes metadata verification feasible for devices with limited CPU resources, such as, for example, mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20070106725
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to methods, systems, and computer program products for providing a scheduler for multiple parties. Methods include receiving information indicating requested attendees and a duration for a meeting from a requestor. A storage device containing available time slots and meeting preferences for the requested attendees is accessed. One or more meeting time slots are determined based on the duration, the available time slots and the meeting preferences. An overall match score for each of the meeting time slots is calculated using the meeting time slot and the meeting preferences as input. A list including the meeting time slots and the associated overall match scores is created. The list is transmitted to the requestor.

  • Publication number: 20070067113
Abstract: Probe configuration is achieved in a measurement system in which probes are given possible configuration data depending upon conditions in an area relevant to the area of the probe. The possible probe configurations include global boundaries, such as time, and each probe then, based upon the possible configurations, selects a configuration. In one embodiment, the probe may interact with a central processor to further define the probe configuration. In one embodiment, probes may communicate with other probes, both to help define their operating environment and to optionally provide configuration data to another probe.

  • Publication number: 20070067360
Abstract: Measurement sensors are designed to provide metadata to data recording devices in an opportunistic manner to conserve bandwidth and/or power. In one embodiment, the metadata is communicated to the recording device during opportunistic periods, such as, for example, when actual data transmission can be skipped, or when battery level is high, or when there is enough bandwidth, i.e., other sensors are not using the full allocated bandwidth. In one embodiment, a plurality of sensors each only send a portion of their data such that all the portions taken together form the complete metadata. In another embodiment, each sensor only sends an identification of its type and the receiving device “looks up” the full metadata from a database.

  • Publication number: 20070063871
Abstract: Individual probe management is accomplished in a measurement system by communicating configuration data to each probe based on that probe's received metadata. In one embodiment, the configuration data is sent from a server and the server does not keep track of the probe's configuration. The configuration data can be, for example, parameters used to directly configure the probe or software modules for running on the probe.

  • Publication number: 20060225121
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for providing multi-viewpoint media collaboration services is provided. The method includes receiving a first feed of content from a communications device. The first feed of content represents at least a portion of a primary event taken from a point of view of the communications device. The primary event is broken down into logical content segments. The method also includes receiving a second feed of content from the communications device. The second feed of content represents a collateral event. The method further includes time synchronizing the first and second feeds of content with the primary event, classifying the first and second feeds of content by point of view with respect to each of the logical content segments resulting in a content mix, and providing access to the content mix.

  • Publication number: 20060211416
Abstract: In a method and system, one or more communication devices within a communication network are provided with a dynamically and remotely configurable probe element, implemented at least partially in software and controllable by the network operator via one or more communication links, capable of monitoring, measuring and capturing user interaction data flowing from voice and/or data transactions occurring in the network. User interaction data reflects a user's experience on the network and thus provides valuable raw data usable by the network operator for improving network quality from the user's perspective, especially when received from a statistically significant number of network user devices. Collected user interaction data can include network engineering metric data and/or user profile data.

The method also includes classifying the content according to a viewpoint identifier and a content identifier. The content identifier specifies a defined portion of the event. The method further includes providing access to user-selectable viewpoints of the content via a corresponding viewpoint identifier and content identifier. Content of selected viewpoints is modifiable for creating customized content.

  • Publication number: 20060171511
Abstract: A method and system for allowing a calling party to save information obtained from an information retrieval system. The caller may select options to save the information to a memory location, e.g., the caller's own network-based voice mail system or a temporary voice mailbox provided for the caller by the information provider, from which the caller can subsequently retrieve and review the information. The information may be saved to an Internet-based website from which the caller may subsequently retrieve the information. The information may be forwarded to a separate telephone directory number for receipt by a third person or for storing on a remote voice mail system. Additionally, the information may be electronically mailed to the caller's electronic mail address for subsequent retrieval. Discussions with a live attendant may be recorded and stored, as audio files or as converted to text, for access by or delivery to the caller.

  • Publication number: 20060111079
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing communications services. One method receives a request for communications service. The request for communications service originates from a client communications device, and the request for communications service is communicated to a service provider of a communications network. A preferred scenario of segmentation, dispersion, and assemblage of electronic data is dynamically ascertained to fulfill the request. The method then bills for the communications service.

  • Publication number: 20050282537
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method is arranged so that less expensive probes are designed for simple installation. Since both probe cost and installation cost are reduced more probes can be deployed thereby improving wireless measurements across a system. In one embodiment, a self-contained probe is designed using internally generated power and vehicle speed information thereby eliminating the need for connecting into a vehicle's power. The low-cost design of each probe allows the electronics to be externally mounted in a quick and easy manner. The resulting large number of deployed probes then allows for different measurements being sent from different probes thereby further reducing the cost per probe.

  • Publication number: 20050273250
Abstract: A navigation system and method factors into its routing decisions information pertaining to transient delays encountered from time to time, one example of such a transient delay is accident information obtained from currently available broadcast traffic flow sources. The system can also factor in historically available traffic delay data based on time of day or other parameters. The navigation system keeps track of the routes traveled by the vehicle (or user) and the times of transit of such routes. When a user requests a route based upon given end-points, the navigation system can use its own stored historical data, as well as currently available traffic delay data, to calculate and announce a given route.

  • Publication number: 20050216227
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to sensor nets from which data is extracted using mobile devices. Sensor devices within the sensor nets record access attempts by mobile devices. Using the recorded access attempts, the probabilities of future access to respective sensor devices are calculated. Collection points are selected using the calculated probabilities. Also, the probabilities of future access are distributed through the sensor nets. Routing of measurement data within the sensor nets may occur using the calculated probabilities.
