Abstract: A wallet style compact disc storage unit (10) includes an enclosing case (12) and an interior structure (14) adapted to releasably hold a plurality of compact discs (16). The enclosing case (12) includes a clamshell structure including a first shell member (22) and a second shell member (24), each having corresponding cushions (40,42), are connected by a living hinge (26) and releasably secured by a slide latch (28). The interior structure (14) includes an even plurality of disc receiving plates (56) formed in four plate modules (58) with each plate (56) being adapted to support one of the compact discs (16) in a releasable manner. Adjacent pairs of plates (56) are hingedly connected by alternating first hinges (104) and second hinges (106) to require accordion type folding of the respective plates (56).

Abstract: A storage device (10) adapted to store a plurality of compact disk containers, known as jewel boxes (11). The device (10) includes a hollow exterior frame (12) and an interior frame (28) which divides the interior into vertical columnar compartments (43, 44 and 45), each of which includes eight storage slots (50). Each of the compartments has an associated securing/release mechanism (60) which acts to restrain the jewel box (11) within the slot (50) and to release and eject it therefrom when pressure is applied to a release button (68). The device (10) is particulary adapted to store twenty four jewel boxes (11) in three columns, but is adaptable for other arrays and other rectangular solid objects.

Abstract: A storage and display device for floppy disks and the like including a molded base unit having a tray for supporting the disks on one edge thereof, a plurality of dividers for separating quantities of the disks within the tray, and hangers pivotally attached to each end of the base unit for suspending the storage container relative to a pair of parallel supports. The hangers are pivotable between a position in parallel side-by-side relationship with the corresponding end surface of the tray and a position extending upwardly relative to the end walls of the tray.

Abstract: A storage container for floppy disks and the like includes a cover member pivotally attached to a base member. The base member includes a floor that has a plurality of guide slots which accept dividers so as to permit organizational classification and to facilitate identification and recovery. The base member includes upwardly extending front, rear and side walls. A finger grip is formed in both the front and rear walls. Along the outboard edge of each side wall is a downwardly extending skirt that runs from the front wall to a point near the rear wall. The cover member may be pivoted through an arc of about 90 degrees which provides easy access to the disk stored inside. The rear edge of each skirt provides a cover stop against which the bottom edge of the rear wall of said cover member rests when the cover is in the fully opened condition. This prevents the cover member from opening further.

Abstract: A storage container for floppy disks is comprised of an open top box-like bottom portion, a support arm and a storage pouch which includes an upper part and a lower part. The support arm is pivotally attached to the opposed side walls of said bottom portion at a point adjacent the back wall thereof. The storage pouch is hingedly attached to the support arm at a position near the center of the upper surface thereof, and is secured by guide projections in the guide slots formed along each said side wall. By this arrangement, the rotational movement about the pivotal connection will cause the stored pouch to rise and in so doing, move forward because of the guide slot engagement. At the forward end of the guide slot, is a downwardly extending dog leg that permits the storage pouch to drop down so as to rest on the floor of the base portion. The lower part of pouch is pivotally attached to the upper part and is held in this condition by a detent arrangement.

Abstract: A filing and storage container for floppy disks and diskettes including a molded base unit (10), a molded cover unit (12) pivotally attached to the base, a plurality of indexing file separators (60), and means (40), (46) provided along the lower portions of the inside walls of the base unit for receiving the lower edges of the file separators and allowing them to pivot between rearwardly inclined positions and forwardly inclined positions.
