  • Patent number: 10354191
Abstract: A method of attaining a linguistic goal output of a process using a linguistic goal oriented decision making system, comprising setting the output value to a linguistic goal, and establishing a set of descriptive rules using historical data, wherein each descriptive rule has at least one variable, a decision variable, and at least one linguistic output value. The method further comprises grouping the set of descriptive rules into subsets of descriptive rules according to the linguistic output value of each descriptive rule and establishing decision rules based on comparing the grouped subsets of descriptive rules, the one or more decision rules describing a modification of a decision variable associated with at least one of the descriptive rules to affect the process.

  • Publication number: 20130332120
Abstract: Described herein is a method of predicting production rates of one or more wells configured to extract petroleum from a petroleum reservoir, the production rates affected by one or more injectors configured to inject water into the petroleum reservoir, the method comprising: calculating a relationship parameter, using a plurality of models, for each of the one or more wells and an associated one of the one or more injectors; predicting future values of the relationship parameter calculated using the plurality of model; calculating a weighted aggregate of the future values of the relationship parameter, wherein weights for the future values are those that minimize a prediction error; predicting the production rates using the a weighted aggregate.

  • Publication number: 20120215452
Abstract: A method of producing hydrocarbons in a reservoir includes determining a relationship between an injection well and a producing well based on an injection rate and a production rate wherein the relationship is filtered to produce a filtered value, and a modified state variable model is selected for each relationship to produce a positive relationship value to determine the production rate.

  • Patent number: 5459668
Abstract: The invention includes an arrangement of actual sensors in an antenna array with a computation of higher-order statistics to provide virtual second order statistics corresponding to virtual elements in the array; employment of the actual and virtual elements of the array for covariance based direction finding; and, with the addition of a separate sensor spaced from the main array, suppression of non-Gaussian measurement noise. This is accomplished employing cross-correlation of the virtual sensors or alternately calibrating the existing actual array employing cross-correlation of the array and it's virtual sensors.
