  • Patent number: 6045109
Abstract: A device designed for temporarily mounting an object to a tubular rod holder. The device consists of a pair of engagement sleeves, each having an inclined plane defining one end. The engagement sleeves are oriented such that the inclined planes complementarily engage one another. A rod extends axially through the engagement sleeves, being fixed to one of the engagement sleeves and extending beyond the end of the other engagement sleeves for supporting an object. When a nut is tightened to force the two engagement sleeves against one another, the inclined planes cause the cylinder to shift laterally and firmly engage the inner wall of the tubular rod holder.

  • Patent number: 5413090
Abstract: An apparatus for distributing heat between the heat source and grill of a gas burning barbecue or kettle, vaporizing and controlling food liquids that fall through the cooking grill, and for easily converting the cooking characteristics of a barbecue to that of a range if so desired. The apparatus is comprised of two articular parts including a flat apertured plate and cap. The plate is horizontally situated so that an aperture is located directly over a gas burner. The plate includes an array of inwardly and upwardly projecting teeth around the aperture for supporting a cooking vessel just above the heat source for range style cooking. The cap fits over the aperture for spreading heat from the gas burner for conventional barbecue style cooking.

  • Patent number: 5330154
Abstract: An apparatus for the mechanical and orificial coupling of a conventional liquid gas fuel supply container and/or supply outlet fixture to a control valve and/or similar secondary fuel outlet port. The coupling apparatus comprises a shaft modifying the inlet of a conventional control valve, which provides an extended port for orificial connection, and a plastic collar which intercalates into a conventional recessed supply outlet orifice fixture. The collar is first engaged with the supply outlet fixture which then makes a socket for the intercalation of the control valve shaft in a quick and secure bayonet fashion. No screw threads are used in any part of the engagement mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 5263434
Abstract: An apparatus for laterally bracing and/or suspending outboard rigging from the sides of floating vessels and the like. The outrigging apparatus comprises a spar with a padded end at its base and an outer end that includes a bore for reeving the outboard rigging, especially roll-dampening devices. The spar sets mainly below the rail of the vessel and is supported by a harness which provides the spar stability on the hull-side of the vessel, where it extends perpendicular to the hull-side, and at some inclination from the base. When a load is applied to the outboard end of the spar it is balanced statically between tensions in the harness and compression along the spar. The basal pad mitigates the resultant pressure on the hull where it contacts the topside. Only two existing attachment sites are required onboard the vessel, one to each side of the extended spar. Whereas the spar is not permanently attached to the vessels' side, it is quickly and universally deployable.

  • Patent number: 4788962
Abstract: A barbecue apparatus is disclosed herein having its components coaxially disposed on a flanged base supported from a cantilevered arm anchored to a support tube or the like. The components include a circular walled bowl carried on the base with vent apertures in the bottom and a grease catch screen that is carried by an apertured liner supporting a gas burner. The reinforced mid-section of the grease screen is detachably coupled to the burner and a grill is removably carried about the peripheral edge marginal region of the liner. A vented lid includes a retention member engaged with the edge of the bowl for wind shielding purposes when not used as a cover for the bowl. A detachable coupler joins the burner to a gas supply cantilevered outwardly from the base which includes controls for gas distribution to the burner.
