  • Patent number: 6305826
Abstract: A lamp assembly includes a light source, a lamp shade arranged to transmit light from the light source, and a casing arranged to accommodate the lamp shade, the casing and lamp shade substantially surrounding the light source. Although arranged to appear opaque when the light source is not illuminated, the casing is arranged to at least partially transmit light upon illumination of the light source so as to reduce shadows that would otherwise be cast by the casing.

  • Patent number: 5499931
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved lamp conducting structure, and more particularly to a lamp conducting structure design allowing for easy assembly with power wires of different thickness. A lower part of the lamp has a cylindrical body with an external thread and a cylindrical body bottom face is provided with radial inter-crossed slots. The slots are narrow and wide slots of different width and depth, and the cross junction of the two slots is provided with two diagonally installed metal clips with sharp needle heads facing downward. The user may select narrow or wide slots based on the power wire thickness, or even further incorporate a "U" type bar shaped cushion installed in the slot. The power wires are placed into the slots from the lamp cylindrical body bottom face and the external thread of the lamp bottom cylindrical structure is engaged with the internal thread of the lower frame top ring slot.

  • Patent number: 5488550
Abstract: A multi-purpose lamp (10) for outdoor use provides, as desired, a function of a pagoda lamp or of a projections lamp, or of a combined pagoda-projecting lamp.It includes a pole (101) for insertion into the ground, a support 102 mounted on the pole (101) in desired angular position, a bulb (107) within the support (102), a lens (104) mounted on the support (102) above the bulb (107), a convex-concave reflector (113) mounted within the support (102) and disposed below the bulb (107), and two shades (105, 106) mounted on the support (102). The shades (105) is a pagoda-type shade which comprises another convex-concave reflector (117), so as, when the pagoda-type shade (105) is mounted on the support (102) to provide a pagoda lamp performance, the reflectors (113, 117) form a pair of spaced-apart convex-concave parabolic reflectors substantially parallel to each other. The shade (106) is a ring-type shade. When the ring-type shade (106) is mounted on the support (102), the lamp (10) performs as a projecting lamp.

  • Patent number: 4876487
Abstract: This invention is for the low voltage illuminating lamp set with the programmable output for Garden use which is used to control the lamp set in the Garden. The main feature is by the control device to preset the variation of time, and the brightness of the graden lamp set in the program. It is to initiated by the light of neighboring environment or to switch off the power, or by the presetting time through light sensitive switch under the condition that the power on/off is determined by the signal of light variation. This has been further characterized that the alarming signal is to be given in sound or in light before the cutoff of power for the warning of night wanderers to go away. These lamp sets can be in multiple parallel and with the function of each lamp set in separate brightness by the adjustable features.

  • Patent number: 4593234
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling illuminating lamps. Ambient light of the surroundings is sensed, and a timer is turned on when the ambient light falls below a predetermined level. When the timer times out, the illuminating lamps are turned on provided that the ambient light is still below a predetermined level. A second timer is activated which turns the illuminating lamps off automatically a predetermined time after they are turned on regardless of the ambient light level. Before the lamps are turned off, a warning signal is issued to allow people using the illumination time to leave. The warning may be audible or may comprise flashing or dimming the illuminating lamps for a predetermined time. The intensity of each illuminating lamp can be independently varied to accommodate different lighting requirements.

  • Patent number: 4493634
Abstract: A kerosene heating stove is equipped with a temperature sensor and a carbonic oxide sensor. The temperature of a space is maintained at a constant level by automatically increasing and decreasing the burning length of a wick in the kerosene heating stove to change the height of the heating flame. The carbonic oxide sensor automatically generates an alarm and decreases the length of the wick to extinguish the flame if the concentration of carbonic oxide in the space increases to a predetermined dangerous level. In another embodiment, a kerosene heating stove is provided with a humidifier which automatically permits water to flow into an evaporating container in proximity to the flame when the moisture content of the air in the space falls below a predetermined level in order to regulate the moisture content of the air.
