Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to adhesive tapes having high tensile strength properties. In particular, embodiments of the present invention relate to adhesive tapes having tensile strength greater than 50 pounds/inch, while maintaining hand tearability characteristics. In one embodiment, a high tensile strength adhesive tape comprises a backing layer, and an adhesive layer affixed to a surface of the backing layer, wherein the adhesive tape has a tensile strength of at least about 50 pounds per inch, and a tear strength of less than about 10 pounds.
