  • Patent number: 7941368
Abstract: A method for electronic transaction settlement includes a customer providing an account identifier and contact information to a merchant, the merchant contacting a settlement house and transmitting the account identifier and a transaction amount, the settlement house contacting the customer, preferably via a mobile communication device. The customer then chooses a payment method such as a credit card and the settlement house contacts a credit provider for authorization. If the settlement house receives an authorization, the settlement house transmits it to the client, who approves the amount. The settlement house then completes the transaction with the credit provider and the merchant's bank.

  • Patent number: 4669729
Abstract: A system for verifying instant bingo game winners includes a plurality of printed cards, each carrying machine readable coding indicia and printed payoff information. A verifying apparatus receives the cards and contains reading and sensing apparatus which can verify the genuineness of the card, determine whether it is a winning card and, in some instances, determine the winning category. The results of the reading and sensing by the verifying apparatus are visually displayed in a format corresponding to that of the cards and the verifying apparatus also has the capability of voiding or cancelling the cards to prevent reuse and embossing the cards with the relevant information as dictated by the coded indicia.

  • Patent number: 4387806
Abstract: A gem storage, display and inventory control system includes a storage container, a display unit, and a control package. The control package is a multi-part, folding, card type unit which includes two sheets joined by a perforated seam and a third, loose, sheet. The outer face of the first sheet contains indicia and space for describing the gem and a an aperture in which the gem itself can be received. The reverse side of the first sheet contains the customer's name, address, etc., and various sales data. The second sheet of the multi-part combination contains, on its inner surface, information comparable to that on the front of the first sheet and its reverse is essentially a postage reply card which can be used for reordering the particular gem. The third part of the control package is a loose index card which can be retained in the storage container until the inventory is replenished. The control package is receivable within a box-like storage container for inventory control and storage purposes.

  • Patent number: 4371077
Abstract: A jewelry display device includes a frame, a support for the frame and a plate pivotally carried on the frame for movement about an essentially horizontal axis. The plate carries, on one side thereof, an outline shape simulating at least the head and a part of the upper body of a human being and on the reverse side carries a reflective surface or mirror. The outline shape is capable of having pieces of jewelry displayed in a realistic environment so as to assist a potential purchaser in evaluating the desirability of the jewelry. A modified form of the invention includes a display pad to which the basic display unit just described is pivotally attached so that the display unit per se can be moved from a stored position to an elevated display position. In this form of the invention, the frame support is pivotally mounted to the supporting base or display pad and the frame is then pivotally mounted itself so that it can swing out for display purposes.

  • Patent number: 3936156
Abstract: A combined display and viewing device intended to be used in connection with the sale of jewelry including an upstanding three-sided frame member having mirrors mounted on its interior surfaces and mounted on a base. Also included is an adjustable magnifying means which is adjustable either vertically with regard to the base and rotatably about its mounting axis or both. A light source is mounted on the frame so that it substantially overlies the magnifying means, and in this fashion a piece of jewelry such as, for example, a ring can be placed on the hand of the prospective purchaser, following which the purchaser's hand is placed under the magnifying means and the light source is activated, and the purchaser will be able to obtain a clear impression from all vantage points of the appearance of the piece of jewelry.
