Patent number: 12267324Abstract: Authorization for access to an application server and associated communication service can be desirably managed. When a device attempts to access an application server and service, an authorization server generates an encrypted token, comprising device identifier information, and communicates the token to the device. The device communicates the token to the application server. The application server communicates the token to the authorization server. The authorization server determines whether the device is validated to access the application server and service based on the encrypted token, private decryption key, and initialization vector, and based on subscriber-related information. The authorization server does not share the private decryption key or initialization vector with the application server. If validated, the authorization server communicates validation-related information, including a permitted portion of subscriber-related information, to the application server.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2022Date of Patent: April 1, 2025Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Bhuvan C. Publication number: 20220408229Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed towards, for interworking function interworking group call services, configuring each of the interworking groups with a separate group home server, with the servers coupled to one another via an interworking function. The interworking function receives a floor taken message from one server, and, in response, obtains a floor grant from the other server, which facilitates communication from a device to which the floor was granted to other devices, including devices associated with the other server. If the interworking function receives colliding floor taken messages from both servers, the interworking function performs mediation to determine which server/user has a higher priority level. The interworking function acknowledges the floor taken message to the higher priority server, and sends a floor request (with high priority) message to the other server, which triggers a floor revoke message to a device on the lower priority side.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2021Publication date: December 22, 2022Inventors: Xiaoming Zhao, Jerry Shih

Patent number: 6417787Abstract: An apparatus and a method for increasing the number of keys in a ready made key-matrix , it is necessary to increase some extra diodes and change the keyboard scanning method . To increase some extra keys in the key-matrix, the diodes are in series with the keys, and the keyboard scanning method is executed by detecting the conductive direction of the diodes. The method avoids redesigning any IC to increase I/O ports, therefore, it can save the cost of redesigning and advance the sale.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1999Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: United Microelectronics Corp.Inventor: Jerry Shih-Pin Hsu

Patent number: 5471519Abstract: A communications monitoring and control system including methods and apparatus for processing a communication directed to a called party. Upon receipt of a communication, the system determines the location of the called party from a changeable list including locations selectively provided by the called party. The communication may be accepted, rejected or monitored by the called party at the locations provided. If rejected, the communication is routed to a message service. If monitored, the communication is routed to a message service, and a one-way connection from the communication to the called party is established. The calling party is unaware of the connection. The called party may discontinue monitoring or connect to the communication at any time during the communication.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1993Date of Patent: November 28, 1995Assignee: BellSouth CorporationInventors: Wayne Howe, Ed Silver, Kim Bailey, Jerry Shih, Kitty Morel, Peter Hill, Cathy Addison, Larry Woodring, Dale Malik
