  • Patent number: 6245131
Abstract: An electrostatic air cleaner for installation in an air-circulating system, including a flow sensor for sensing the flow of air across the electrostatic air cleaner, and a switch, responsive to the flow sensor, for operating the electrostatic air cleaner only when the flow of air exceeds a predetermined threshold. More particularly, the electrostatic air cleaner includes an electrostatic air cleaner cover unit adapted to be secured over the opening in a frame in the air circulating system which frame contains at least one removable electrostatic air cleaning cell. The cover unit has a baffle for substantially blocking the air flow between the electrostatic air cleaning cell and the cover unit. The baffle has an opening therein, and a bypass tube is aligned with the opening in the baffle. An air flow sensor is disposed in the tube for sensing the air flow through the tube. The air flow sensor preferably includes a self-heating thermistor for sensing the flow in the bypass tube.

  • Patent number: 4363014
Abstract: A snap-on cover for a bobbin-wound electrical coil assembly includes a plurality of displaceable tabs aligned with slots provided for lead exits in the end flanges of the bobbin. Those tabs aligned with slots containing leads are displaced whereas those tabs aligned with unused slots are not displaced and effectively cover such unused slots.

  • Patent number: 4351200
Abstract: Actuators for a program timer are removably attached to the timer dial in a snap-on manner to enable simple and easy removal or installing of the actuators to effect changing the schedule of operation of the timer.

  • Patent number: 4337029
Abstract: A pilot burner assembly comprises a pilot burner, a flame responsive means, and an electrode, all attached in close relationship to a common mounting bracket. The electrode is frictionally attached co-axially with an insulating sleeve and the sleeve is frictionally attached to the mounting bracket so that the spark gap between the tip of the electrode and a portion of the pilot burner is adjustable without having to bend the electrode.

  • Patent number: 4301438
Abstract: In a space thermostat having a control lever for setting the temperature set-point, a force producing means clamps the control lever to the thermostat casing through an elongated slot in the casing. A hollow, rigid thin-walled nut, a compressible anchor ring, and a screw cooperate to provide means for adjusting the value of the clamping force to a value which enables manual movement of the control lever, upon application thereto of a desired force, to a different temperature set-point. The clamping force is further adjustable to a value which prevents manual movement of the control lever when it is desired to provide a locked condition wherein the control lever cannot be manually moved.

  • Patent number: 3947795
Abstract: A transformer winding having a very large number of turns of wire is divided into a plurality of connected portions each wound on a separate flanged bobbin with the start end and the finish end of each winding portion secured to radial tabs on the bobbin flanges. The wound bobbins are mounted end to end on an iron core and the winding portions thereon are connected in series. Alternate methods of connecting the winding portions in series are also disclosed.
