Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating a visual representation of a flavor or texture profile based on flavor or texture preferences of a user with respect to each of a plurality of flavor or texture categories or based on flavor or texture characteristic information representing flavor or texture characteristics of a product or recipe for each of a plurality of flavor or texture categories. The flavor or texture preferences of a user and the flavor or texture characteristics of a product or recipe with respect to each of a plurality of flavor or texture categories is determined by way of a method and apparatus for determining a flavor or texture profile for a user and a method and apparatus for determining a flavor or texture profile for a food element, respectively. Also described is a method and apparatus for providing food element recommendations based on flavor or texture.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating a flavor preference profile for a user including the steps of obtaining user food preference information for a user regarding a plurality of food elements, the user food preference information being provided by the user, obtaining correlation information regarding the plurality of food elements and a plurality of flavor categories, the correlation information providing a correlation between user preference for each food element and user preference for each of the plurality of flavor categories, determining, by a microprocessor and based on the user food preference information and the correlation information, the relative user preference for each of the plurality of flavor categories, and generating preference output data for the user based on the result of the determining.

Abstract: A container apparatus includes a container having an interior compartment and an opening communicating with the interior compartment. A first interlocking closure member extends at least partially within the compartment through the opening to an exterior of the container. A second interlocking closure member is removably secured to the first interlocking closure member and covering the opening, such that items placed within the interior compartment are restricted from being dispensed via the opening.

One or more agents are released into the subsurface to cause or accelerate the decomposition of one or more pre-existing halogenated organic compounds and release halogen ions, improving electrode performance.

Abstract: In certain example embodiments of this invention, a foam type spacer/seal is used proximate the edge of a vehicle window. The use of foam in such applications is advantageous in that it permits high-profile shaped spacers/seals to be efficiently formed in a manner which does not sacrifice yields. In certain example embodiments, polyurethane-based foam may be used.

Abstract: The present invention is a flexible hinge assembly. The hinge component includes a flexible body having a flange extending lengthwise down each side. The body has a groove cut into it extending lengthwise. The body is inserted into an opening in a frame until the flanges engage the upper surface of the frame. Halfway across the opening, two thin bars extend from each end. These bars enter the groove in the top of the flexible body as it is inserted in the opening, thereby holding the flanges in contact with the surface of the frame. The flexible body may be directly attached to an article to be hinged or it may be connected to an attachment device.
