Publication number: 20230277858Abstract: A device for implant in a hole in cranium relative to a bone table includes a can having an electrical-contact pad. The can has a perimeter edge defining a boundary, and a recessed portion with an upper surface positioned to lie beneath the bone table when the can is placed in the hole. The device also include a cover assembly that couples to and decouples from the can at the electrical-contact pad. A strain relief system includes a lower strain relief and an upper strain relief. The lower strain relief defines channels that receive a portion of a lead and includes a curved portion that extends upward from the upper surface of the recessed portion to the bone table, and a linear portion that extends from the curved portion to an end beyond the perimeter edge. The upper strain relief couples to and decouples from the can and/or the lower strain relief.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Joseph Vandenburg, Jerzy A. Publication number: 20230208071Abstract: An implantable medical device includes a cover assembly and a feedthrough assembly that couples with the cover assembly. The cover assembly receives a connector end of a lead having lead contacts, and aligns the lead contacts with pockets or apertures of the cover assembly. The feedthrough assembly may include feedthrough contacts in the form of feedthrough pins at or above a surface of a feedthrough substrate, or conductive vias on the surface of the substrate. Electrical contacts configured as leaf spring contact assemblies, torsion spring contacts, or torsion spring contact assemblies are permanently attached to the feedthrough contacts. When the cover assembly and feedthrough assembly are coupled, contact tabs of the electrical contacts are positioned in the pockets or apertures of the cover assembly. Upon complete seating of the cover assembly and feedthrough assembly, the contact tabs are compressed into contact with the lead contacts.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2023Publication date: June 29, 2023Inventors: Joseph Vandenburg, Jerzy Sochor

Patent number: 6662035Abstract: This is an implantable lead connector assembly for connecting electrode leads implanted into the brain to implantable devices. The lead connector assembly preferably includes at least one interposer for holding a lead electrode, a connector housing, a fastener, and electrical connection members that electrically link the electrode lead connections to the to pins projecting from the lead connector assembly. Electrical contact between the electrode lead and the external pins of the connector assembly is accomplished by closing the connector housing. Multiple electrical leads may be connected in this way and the electrical contacts between the connector and the electrode lead are sealed from each other and from external fluids. A method for connecting an implantable electrode lead to an implantable device using such an implantable connector is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2001Date of Patent: December 9, 2003Assignee: NeuroPace, Inc.Inventor: Jerzy Sochor

Patent number: 4889499Abstract: A pin grip array zero insertion force connector has 10,000 or more normally closed contacts provided in rows on a motherboard. Alternating rows of contacts respectively include first and second type contacts, and drawbars are provided between the rows of contacts. Alternate drawbars are caused to slide in opposite directions, thereby engaging the drawbars with one of the two tines of each contact in the rows of contacts on either side of the drawbar. An actuator mechanism is provided at each end of the rows of contacts and drawbars to engage and slide the drawbars. To reduce the force necessary to operate each actuator mechanism, the actuator mechanisms may be divided into subactuator mechanisms which are individually actuated. The drawbars comprises a drawbar support strip which engages the actuator mechanisms and an interposer body molded to retaining tabs on the drawbar support strip.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1988Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: Amdahl CorporationInventor: Jerzy Sochor
