  • Publication number: 20080028681
Abstract: A child safety barrier (1) has a handle (8, 20, 21), which, when being operated, causes two upper ferrules (9, 10) to be fixed in an opening between two side posts (2, 3), as well as a pressure indicator which shows how great a pressure is provided against the side posts (2, 3). According to the invention, the pressure indicator is constructed as a pressure transducer in the form of a strain gauge (13) which is disposed on one of the upper ferrules (9). A signal processing circuit (16), which is powered from a battery (19), is connected to the strain gauge (13). The signal processing circuit (16) has a display unit which may be a light-emitting diode or a sound unit, which gives a signal when the pressure between the upper ferrules (9, 10) is sufficient. The display unit also shows whether the battery (19) is sufficient charged. The invention provides a pressure indicator which is more reliable than a mechanical pressure indicator, in particular after having been used for an extended period of time.

  • Publication number: 20070022666
Abstract: A child safety barrier with a door secured in a U-shaped frame has a locking device which cannot be operated by children. The locking device has an activation unit which, when receiving a signal from a signal generator, releases the locking device so that the door may be opened or closed, which, in one embodiment, must take place within 2-4 seconds of the point of time when the signal generator is activated. The activation device may be formed by a mechanical activation mechanism, while the signal generator may be a push-button, an electric voltage or a remote control using a connection of the type IR, Bluetooth or the like. In a preferred embodiment, the activation device is connected with a push/pull rod whose one end is connected with a relay, while its other end is connected with a movable post extending inside a column in the U-shaped frame to which the door is secured.

  • Publication number: 20060180283
Abstract: A foldable safety barrier to be secured in and removed from a door opening, comprising a frame having a covering member (28), such as a piece of fabric, said frame being formed by upper and lower cross members (1, 2) connected with first and second lateral posts (3, 4) by means of four angle brackets (5, 6, 7, 8), each of which has first and second legs, and constructed such that the upper (1) and lower (2) cross members consist of two pipes (9, 10) which are mutually displaceable, while the first and second lateral posts (3, 4) consist of two pipes (13, 14) which are interconnected by means of lockable hinge links (15, 19). The outer dimensions of the hinge links (15, 19) correspond to the outer dimensions of the lateral posts (3, 4).

  • Patent number: 6980825
Abstract: A communication unit with personalizing feature, where the communication unit is provided with a holder for holding a releasable picture in an exposable place of the communication unit. The holder can according to the invention be located on either the back cover part of the communication unit or in a display assembly of the communication unit. In one embodiment the holder includes a plastic film that is attached along one of its sides to a transparent part of the communication unit, e.g. back cover part. The plastic film can be lifted and a picture can be placed between the holder and the back cover. To improve the holding feature of the holder the holder could be provided with an adhesive that holds the picture in it's exposable position. In another embodiment the holder is included in the display assembly and having an insert that holds the picture in an exposable position.

  • Patent number: 6606627
Abstract: Techniques for allowing an application designed to store data for one group of users to store data for a plurality of groups of users include modifying the application to cause the application to indicate a routine to a database server that stores data for the application in a database. The routine provides modifications to queries of the database, which limit access based on the groups to which belong users that cause the queries to be submitted. In response to receiving a query involving the database and caused by a particular user, the database server locates the routine, and, prior to executing the query, modifies the query. Modifying the query includes invoking the routine. The modification to the query thereby limits access of the particular user to data that is associated with the group of users to which the particular user belongs.

  • Patent number: 6587854
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for storing data of multiple enterprises in a set of database objects in a database system and allowing multiple enterprises to interact with the database system as if those database objects contained only their data. According to an aspect of the present invention, a database command issued against a database object by a user is modified by adding predicates that limit access to data associated with the enterprise in which the user has data access. The predicates may specify conditions based on a column in the database object that identifies the enterprise. When a user issues a database command to add data to the database object, the column is populated in a manner transparent to the user. The data in the database object that is associated with a particular enterprise is stored in a separate tablespace.

  • Publication number: 20020157316
Abstract: Am apparatus includes a pair of frame members adapted for mounting to opposing surfaces of a passagaway. A door is mounted to at least one of the frame members for movement between a closed position, in which the door and frame members substantially traverse the passagaway, and an open position, in which a portion of the passageway is free of the door and frame members, the portion being large enough to permit passage of an adult therethrough. A lock is coupled to at least one of the frame members and adapted to retain the door in the closed position, the lock including an actuator adapted to release the lock to permit movement of the door from the closed position toward the open position upon application to the actuator of a force of at least a predetermined weight of a child.
