  • Patent number: 6662814
Abstract: A mid-level spray-arm assembly for a dishwasher includes a bracket for mounting a spray-arm hub to an upper rack of the machine, and a bearing coupling extending between the hub and the bracket. The bearing coupling forms a first bearing surface for rotation of the bearing coupling relative to the bracket, and a second bearing surface for rotation of the spray-arm relative to the bearing coupling. Thus, redundant bearing surfaces are provided that facilitate a more even wearing of the bearing surfaces and allow rotation of the spray-arm even when one of the bearing surfaces fails.

  • Publication number: 20020139809
Abstract: A dishwasher basket assembly includes a basket and a handle selectively positionable between a first position approximately centered relative to the basket and a second position allowing substantially unobstructed access to the basket for loading and unloading of basket contents. The handle includes a peg configured to be received in a bracket on the side walls of the basket. A projection on a peg outer surface engages and disengages detents on an attachment bracket crown surface as the handle is moved between the first and second positions.
