  • Publication number: 20060042336
Abstract: A deadbolt mechanism including a lock out mechanism that functions to disable the operation of the deadbolt from at least one side of the deadbolt mechanism. The deadbolt mechanism includes a deadbolt, key cylinder, housing, turn knob and a shaft that connects the key cylinder and turn knob. To place the deadbolt mechanism in lock out mode, a release mechanism is actuated and the turn knob is pulled outward away from the door. By pulling the knob outward, the shaft engages a portion of the housing which prevents rotation of the shaft and thereby prevents movement of the deadbolt from the lock-out position.

  • Publication number: 20060005586
Abstract: A lock for securing to a selected base object by a user is disclosed. The lock includes a housing, a time display device secured to the housing, a locking mechanism attached to the housing, and a shackle having a first portion disposed within the housing and a second portion disposed between an open position and a closed position. When disengaged from the locking mechanism, the shackle is movable between the closed position and the open position by user manipulation of the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism can be a various styles, such as for example, a padlock or a dial combination. The shackle can be of various structures, shapes and styles. The time display device may include a rotatable face plate. The lock may include illumination means, such as for example, a user operated flashlight.

  • Publication number: 20050199019
Abstract: A lock includes two independently operating locking mechanism, one locking mechanism operating electronically and one locking mechanism operating mechanically. The lock may include a device for receiving and decoding an electronic unlock signal and a memory source for storing multiple unique unlock signals. The electronic signal may be generated from a remote source or on the lock itself. The lock also may include a button that allows unique unlock signals to be added or deleted from the lock memory.

  • Publication number: 20050201076
Abstract: A lock including an illuminating device which is actuated by the rotation of a lock dial produces an illumination event. The illumination event provides sufficient light on the lock such as to allow easier operation of the lock in areas of inadequate light. The lock may include a piezo device which creates electrical current to light one or more light emitting diodes for a predetermined duration of time.

  • Publication number: 20040159133
Abstract: A telescoping lockout device for encasing a gate valve, electrical connection, or similar apparatus, for the purpose of preventing unauthorized access and tampering with the apparatus. The lockout device is comprised of two nested half cylinders attached to one another through T slot that provides for telescoping of the device between an open position, where one half cylinder is nested within the other, and a closed position, where the half cylinders form a cylinder. The T slot provides a rail on one half cylinder that inserts into a track on the other half cylinder. At the ends of the T slot track and rail is an interlock. The lockout device also has locking tabs that, when the lockout device is placed in the closed position, provide overlapping locking openings into which a lock, such as a padlock, can be inserted.

  • Patent number: 6434981
Abstract: A combination lock having a housing, a shackle, a dial, a pushbutton, and a lock assembly. The lock assembly is made of a group of rotating disks having windows that can be aligned to open the lock. When the dial is turned according to the combination of the lock, the windows become aligned so that the user can depress the pushbutton to release the shackle. The pushbutton travels in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the dial. When the shackle is locked again, the pushbutton returns to its original position. As the pushbutton travels back to its original position, portions of the lock assembly are turned so that the combination must be reentered in order to reopen the lock.
