    Abstract: A solid amphoteric skin cleanser suited for cleansing human skin is produced by admixing a partially neutralized amphoteric surfactant having at least one basic nitrogen and one or more carboxyl groups within the same molecule and a hexahydric alcohol in the presence of elevated temperatures e.g. 155.degree. C. to 165.degree. C. and agitation until a clear homogeneous composition is formed. The solution is then solidified by cooling.
