  • Publication number: 20230309843
Abstract: Monitoring vital parameters of a wearer of a compression garment by analyzing a pressure signal waveform indicative of a fluid pressure in an inflatable and deflatable bladder of the compression garment. Analyzing the pressure signal waveform for an oscillating amplitude as a function of time and/or a representation of a pulse of the wearer provides an indication of blood pressure of the wearer.

  • Publication number: 20100318043
Abstract: A portable negative pressure wound therapy system includes a dressing assembly for positioning over a wound to apply negative pressure to the wound and a canister assembly. The canister assembly includes a control unit, a vacuum source disposed in the control unit, a pressure sensor in communication with a processor unit of the control unit, and a collection canister. The collection canister includes an inlet conduit in fluid communication with the dressing assembly, a first chamber to collect wound fluids, an inlet port coupled to the inlet conduit to introduce the wound fluids from the dressing assembly into the first chamber, a suction port to communicate with the first chamber and the vacuum source, a pressure sensor port to communicate with the first chamber and the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor port is in fluid communication with a “T”-off point between the inlet conduit and the inlet port.

  • Publication number: 20100010404
Abstract: A self-contained compression device and related method for cyclically compressing the limb of a patient to improve blood flow in the limb. In one embodiment, the compression device includes a compressive section sized and shaped for extending around a portion of the limb for applying compressive pressure and a housing operatively connected to the compressive section. The housing includes first and second housing members movable relative to each other between contracted and expanded positions. A non-pneumatic mechanical actuator is provided in the housing for cyclically moving the first and second housing members from their contracted position to their expanded position. The housing members are spring-biased toward the contracted position.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for cyclically compressing the limb of a patient to improve blood flow in the limb. In one embodiment, a compression device includes a compressive section sized and shaped for extending around a portion of the limb for applying compressive pressure and a housing operatively connected to the compressive section. The housing includes first and second housing members movable relative to each other between contracted and expanded positions. A non-pneumatic mechanical actuator is provided in the housing for cyclically moving the first and second housing members from their contracted position to their expanded position to apply compressive pressure to the limb portion. At least one pneumatic bladder is positioned for distributing the compressive pressure over a surface of the limb portion.

  • Publication number: 20100010406
Abstract: A self-contained compression device and related method for cyclically compressing the limb of a patient to improve blood flow in the limb are disclosed. In one embodiment, the actuator comprises a prime mover and at least one cam movable by the prime mover for effecting relative movement between the first and second housing members.
