    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining an ensquared energy associated with an imaging system. In one embodiment of the invention, a focal plane array captures an image of a target comprising a plurality of point sources, each point source being associated with a pixel within the focal plane array. An image analysis component estimates an ensquared energy value for the imaging system from respective intensity values of the associated pixels and known relative positions of the plurality of point sources.
