  • Patent number: 4635747
Abstract: Mounting structure for a marine seismic vibrator comprising at least three acoustic isolators equally spaced apart about an upper housing of the vibrator. Each of the isolators comprises a pair of spaced mounting pads mechanically secured to the housing. A U-shaped bracket having a base and depending spaced leg portions is attached to the mounting pads by way of a low-pass acoustic filter. A rectangular shaped bracket has a base, a top and a pair of spaced vertical sidewalls. The rectangular shaped bracket is located between the spaced leg portions of the U-shaped bracket and a resilient means is mounted between the bases of the U-shaped bracket and the rectangular bracket to provide a high-pass acoustic filter. Means mechanically connected to the top of the rectangular brackets to the tops of the mechanical brackets secure all the isolators to a common point at the center of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4191795
Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating timbers, such as railroad ties and the like, which comprises at least one pressure sealed tube or pipe filled with the treating fluid normally utilized for treating timbers, and of a size for receiving the timbers in sequential end-to-end relation for longitudinal movement therethrough. The timbers are initially loaded into the treating pipe through one end thereof from a movable tube containing a single timber therein, with the single timber being ejected from the movable tube into the treating tube by a suitable ram member, such as a hydraulic piston. As timber after timber is introduced into the fluid filled treating pipe, each timber pushes the preceding timber longitudinally through the pipe and the timbers absorb the treating fluid during the longitudinal passage through the filled pipe.

  • Patent number: 3992767
Abstract: Apparatus for laminating crossties comprising means for conveying a plurality of railroad crossties in substantially mutually parallel relationship onto a lifting mechanism, said lifting mechanism being operable for simultaneously moving a plurality of the crossties into a clamping apparatus wherein the crossties are securely clamped in side-by-side relation, drill means operable for drilling transversely extending bore means through said plurality of crossties, means for inserting dowel pine through said bores for securing the plurality of crossties together in a laminated arrangement and means for removing the laminated crossties from the clamped position and from the apparatus.
