Publication number: 20230241285Abstract: Otologic materials and methods are provided. For example, a cell-adhesive, biodegradable hydrogel scaffold loaded with time-released drugs for repairing chronic tympanic membrane perforations is disclosed, methods of making same and administering same are provided. This hydrogel may promote vascular in-growth and epithelial cell growth of the tympanic membrane with the purpose of closing the perforation and providing a barrier between the external and middle ear. The hydrogel is initially a liquid polymer that only gels upon exposure to specific conditions, such as exposure to light. This scaffold may simultaneously induce repair of the tympanic membrane while preventing or alleviating middle ear infection, thus filling a void in current tympanic membrane perforation therapies.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2023Publication date: August 3, 2023Inventors: Elaine Horn-Ranney, Parastoo Khoshakhlagh, Michael Moore, Jesse Ranney

Publication number: 20230080002Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for detecting potentially unsafe wear levels in vehicle suspension systems. An embodiment operates by receiving acoustic signals of a vehicle suspension system, processing, the acoustic signals to generate training data, training a predictive learning algorithm to generate a predictive wear model and classifying the processed acoustic signals to indicate wear levels of one or more components of the vehicle suspension system. The trained predictive wear model subsequently predicts wear levels of the vehicle suspension system for notification to a cloud-based repository. Fleets of driverless vehicles may continuously monitor wear levels for timely maintenance before failure occurs.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2021Publication date: March 16, 2023Applicant: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Alexander Joseph Angilella, Justin Edward Tufariello, Leslie Allison Riesenhuber, Paul Francis Kelley, Jesse Moore

Publication number: 20200170636Abstract: A fixation apparatus is provided that includes a reception portion on a proximal end of the fixation apparatus. The reception portion couples the fixation apparatus to a tension element, and adjustment of the tension element with respect to the fixation apparatus does not cause a change in a position of the fixation apparatus. The fixation apparatus also includes a chamber in a distal portion of the fixation device. The chamber provides a supportive enclosure for a tension element that runs through the chamber and is anchored at the reception portion, and a force vector of the tension element exiting at the distal end of the fixation device is redirected at an axis independent of the axis of the fixation apparatus from the proximal end to the distal end.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2020Publication date: June 4, 2020Inventor: JESSE MOORE

Publication number: 20110295255Abstract: An implantable femoral fixation device adapted to be received the femoral neck and femoral head configured to support at least a portion of the inner surface of the cortical bone of the femur. In various embodiments the femoral fixation device is transformable between a first radially reduced configuration and a second, radially expanded configuration, is attached to an anchor, and/or is configured to be encased in fixation media. In one embodiment the anchor is a segmented intramedullary structure disposed in the intramedullary canal configurable between a relatively flexible, bent configuration for implantation or extraction and a relatively rigid, straightened configuration for bone treatment.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2010Publication date: December 1, 2011Applicant: SONOMA ORTHOPEDIC PRODUCTS, INC.Inventors: Jeffrey Roberts, Thomas B. Publication number: 20110184469Abstract: A surgical instrument for reducing a rod toward a bone fastener and securing it thereto with a set screw having a cylindrical fastener engaging member extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The distal portion of said fastener engaging member being adapted to receive a portion of the rod therein and being further adapted to engage the bone fastener. The instrument further being provided with a coaxial set screw installation member extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end of the set screw installation member being adapted to receive and hold the set screw securely within its distal end. The fastener engaging member and coaxial set screw installation member being operable together to reduce the rod distally into the bone fastener and then rotationally attach the set screw into the bone fastener while holding the rod in contact with the bone fastener.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2010Publication date: July 28, 2011Applicant: WARSAW ORTHOPEDIC, INC.Inventors: Rodney R. Patent number: 6393802Abstract: An oxygen concentrator for supplying supplemental oxygen to a patient. The oxygen concentrator is adapted to supply supplemental oxygen directly to the patient and/or to a cylinder filler which is controlled to automatically fill a portable oxygen cylinder for use by an ambulatory patient. The cylinder filler is controlled to check the initial gas pressure in the cylinder prior to filling. If the initial cylinder pressure is below a preset minimum pressure, the cylinder filler will not fill the cylinder so that an empty cylinder which may be contaminated cannot be filled.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1999Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Sunrise Medical HHG, Inc.Inventors: Karl Bowser, Greg Clites, Frank Frola, Jesse Moore
