  • Patent number: 4096469
Abstract: An improved hazard warning system for certain types of motor vehicles (especially commercial motor vehicles) wherein when the hazard warning system is in operation, the clearance/marker and identification lights are intermittently flashed along with the flashing of the left and right front and left and right rear signal lights.

  • Patent number: 4079973
Abstract: A chain door guard which is constructed in a manner so that the chain coupler element can be set into a position of the slot member wherein the chain has limited slack. The coupler element, when positioned in the slot member that keeps the chain substantially taut, limits the opening of the door to a minimal distance. Limiting the opening of the door to a minimal distance will provide greater protection of the premises for it will not allow sufficient open space between the door and the door frame, when the door is opened, to allow a chain cutter or jimmy to be used in cutting or breaking the chain. In addition, the construction of this chain guard provides for a person to alternatively set the chain coupler element into the long slot of the slide bracket. Thus the chain will have a maximum of slack in this disposition of the coupler element, thus allowing the door to be opened sufficiently for the occupant of the premises to see and converse with someone standing at the outside of the door.

  • Patent number: 4071839
Abstract: A system for concomitantly shutting off a motor vehicle air conditioner compressor and lighting a warning light, when the engine of the vehicle overheats, and for concomitantly allowing operation of the air conditioning unit and shutting off the warning light when the engine is at normal operating temperature. The system features a two-position electrical switch such as a solenoid or relay which is electrically connected to a heat sensitive switch immersed in the liquid cooling medium of the engine. The heat sensitive switch has two states, depending on the temperature of the liquid cooling medium. In one state, i.e. when the liquid cooling medium temperature is normal, the two-position electrical switch is in a first position, and the electrically controlled clutch of the air conditioner compressor is closed and the warning light is not lit. In the other state, the two-position electrical switch is in a second position and the clutch is open, and the warning light is lit.

  • Patent number: 4027170
Abstract: An ignition switch including a key receiving lock cylinder. A pin is movable by the insertion of the key in the key receiving lock cylinder. A conducting switch leaf is connected to the hot terminal of a battery and is biased to touch a first contact of a two contact switch in the absence of any external force acting thereon. Insertion of the ignition key in the key receiving lock cylinder moves the pin so that the switch leaf is placed in contact with the second contact. When the key is removed from the key receiving lock cylinder, the switch leaf under its own resiliency moves and touches the first contact. Different circuits can be activated when the switch leaf is in circuit with either of the contacts.

  • Patent number: 4016776
Abstract: An improved remotely controlled externally mounted motor vehicle mirror includes a mirror assembly having a housing which is rigidly affixed to a motor vehicle. A movable mirror element is movably positioned within the housing. The horizontal and vertical positions of the movable mirror element within the housing can be selectively adjusted by a control lever within the motor vehicle so that a driver of the motor vehicle can view the area to the left and rear of the motor vehicle. A vertical slide plate and a horizontal adjustment screw are provided to establish a reference position for the control lever and consequently, the movable mirror element in which the movable mirror element has a certain vertical and horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: 3990602
Abstract: A fuel tank consisting of a housing in which a port is located. A fuel fill tube is connected to said housing. A barrier is located beneath said port to prevent the insertion of a siphon tube into said fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 3963090
Abstract: A seat belt buckle automatic unlatching mechanism including a seat belt arrangement comprised of a first seat belt strap and a second seat belt strap. Attached to one end of the first seat belt strap is a latching tongue and attached to one end of the second seat belt strap is a tongue latching mechanism. The tongue latching mechanism automatically releases the latching tongue when the motor vehicle engine has stalled, as due to an accident.
