  • Patent number: 4376783
Abstract: The novel acylated guanidines, ureas and substituted ureas correspond to the general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 repesents a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic ring, R.sub.2 represents an alkyl, aryl, or arylalkyl group, R.sub.4 repesents hydrogen or a variously substituted aryl group, X is oxygen or an imine group: NH and Y represent an alkyl aryl alkyloxy or aryloxy group or a hydrogen atom when X represents oxygen or the group COR.sub.3 with R.sub.3 representing an aromatic group, an aryloxy, aralkyloxy or alkyloxy group when X represents the NH group. They are prepared by heating an appropriate compound under reflux with an oxyaminoalcohol, in a suitable solvent. The products are useful as medicaments for the treatment of arterial hypertension, ischemica diseases of the heart and rhythmic disorders of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4332959
Abstract: The process is for the manufacture of phenoxylactic acids and their derivatives of the general formula: ##STR1## (in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, identical or different, can represent hydrogen atoms, methyl residues, methoxy groups or halogens; Y represents an OH or O--CO--R.sub.3 group with R.sub.3 representing either an aliphatic residue possibly substituted by a halogen, or an aromatic residue possibly substituted on the nucleus by one or several methyl, methoxy, halogen groups or lastly a heterocyclic group; Z represents OH group or an ##STR2## with R.sub.4 representing an alkyl or aryl radical and R.sub.5 hydrogen or an alkyl radical, NR.sub.4 R.sub.5 possibly also representing the morpholinyl radical). A cyanhydrin is subjected to a Ritter reaction (reaction with tert. butanol or isobutene in the presence of an acid).

  • Patent number: 4013706
Abstract: A process for the production of compounds of the general formula: ##STR1## and compounds of that general formula, in which A represents hydrogen or an R.sub.1 -- X group (in which X represents --CO or --SO.sub.2 and R.sub.1 represents an optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, alkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, etheroxy, aliphatic or aromatic group), R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, or aryl group, and R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group derived from a secondary or tertiary alcohol, particularly a tertio-butyl group, with the restriction that, when R.sub.2 represents hydrogen, R.sub.3 represents the said alkyl group and that, when R.sub.3 represents hydrogen, R.sub.2 represents the said optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, or aryl group, the said process comprising reacting a cyanamide of the formula: ##STR2## (in which A and R.sub.2 have the meanings given above) with a compound e.g.
