  • Patent number: 5640461
Abstract: A vibration reducing radio speaker assembly (100) located within a radio housing (101). The radio speaker assembly (100) includes a speaker grommet (105) having an aperture (111) and notched portions (115) which extend along the lateral sides of the grommet (105). The grommet (105) holds a speaker (103) and frictionally engages within the aperture located in the interior of the grommet (105) while the notched portions (115) frictionally engage with rib member (119) which protrude from the radio housing (101). The speaker assembly (100) provides reduced acoustic vibration and enhances audio quality since the speaker (103) is not directly fastened to the radio housing (101).

  • Patent number: 4988965
Abstract: A reed switch holder assembly for detecting the passage of a magnet adjacent the assembly. The assembly includes a reed switch and first and second terminal elements each including a lead-receiving ferrule and a portion for mechanical and electrical connection to a conductor. The ferrule has a spring finger for holding a lead of the reed switch which finger includes a portion extending transversely from the remainder of the ferrule. The reed switch holder of the assembly includes a base of one-piece molded thermoplastic construction and a cover of one-piece molded thermoplastic construction. The base and cover include a latching mechanism for holding the base and cover assembly which, in their assembled condition, define a central cavity for holding the envelope of the reed switch and a pair of side cavities for receiving the leads of the reed switch and the ferrules of the terminal elements. One side cavity extends to a first end of the holder and the other side cavity extends to the holder second end.

  • Patent number: 4493467
Abstract: A one-piece plastic strain relief bushing for power line cords comprises a main body portion with a pivoted locking portion at one end thereof. The main body portion includes spaced-apart parallel walls which grip the line cord such that the line cord in the bushing is in a predetermined serpentine path. The pivoted locking portion snaps fits with an end section of the main body portion to form a slot which completely circumscribes the line cord.

  • Patent number: 4318208
Abstract: A fastening system including two plastic fasteners for removably securing two workpieces together, including a female socket accepted and retained within a bore in one workpiece and a double ended male stud self-retained in a bore in the second workpiece and removably accepted in complimental fashion in the female socket. One end of said male stud carrying a deflectable spherically shaped segmented head which permits limited tolerance variation between center lines positions of making bores in the two workpieces.

  • Patent number: 4295003
Abstract: This invention relates to a quick screw mounting means usable with a plastic member adapted to accept secondary elements relative thereto. The mounting means includes a bore hole open along one side formed in the mounting member and an axially extending slot substantially parallel to and communicating with said bore holes along its open side and extending laterally therefrom. A flat sheet metal clip is slid into the slot and locked therein by a head flange engaging the outer end and a pair of resilient leg members opposite the head engaging the mounting means adjacent the opposite end of the bore hole. At least one resilient arm intermediate the head and leg members extends into the bore hole to engage a screw theaded member that is axially pushed without rotation into the bore hole. The arms engage the thread and permit adjustment of the screw, as well as removal, by appropriate rotation.
