  • Patent number: 7692121
Abstract: A temperature control and method of operating the temperature control, for an inductively heated heating element. The heating element is heated by an inductor to which electrical power is supplied via a control circuit, which can also be a control circuit for an induction hob or oven. The temperature control is activated at a first point in time subject to at least one electrical value of the control circuit, which depends on the temperature of the heating element. A reference value is determined at the first point in time and a comparison value and a deviation value from the reference value is determined at least one later point in time. Depending upon the deviation value, the inductor is supplied with power so that the heating element is adjusted to a substantially constant value corresponding to the reference value.

  • Publication number: 20090294437
Abstract: A device, in particular, for inductively heating up a heating element by means of an inductor and an element for recording a reference quantity which is dependent on the temperature of the heating element and derived from the electric quantity of the inductor in such a way that it makes it possible to form the reference value from the reference quantity and to adjust the temperature according to the reference quantity adjustment by means of the reference value. The aim of said invention is to carry out a reliable adjustment of a water temperature or of a cooked product even at extreme conditions or when the reference value is incorrect. For this purpose, the device comprises a correction means for correcting the reference value.

  • Publication number: 20090139980
Abstract: A cooking hob, especially an induction cooking hob, including a first heating zone having at least two independently heatable heating elements operable by a first power supply via a first switching device, and at least one additional heating zone operable by a second power supply via a second switching device in a normal mode of operation. The heating capacity of the first heating zone can be increased beyond a maximum power of the first power supply while the first heating zone and the additional heating zone are operated simultaneously in the normal mode of operation. The cooking hob includes a switching element for establishing a power supply connection between the second power supply and one of the heating elements of the first heating zone in a special mode of operation so as to increase the heating capacity of the first heating zone.

  • Patent number: 7504607
Abstract: A frequency converter circuit has at least two outputs that are respectively connected to a load, in particular an induction coil. A first output is operated at a first switching frequency and a second output is simultaneously operated at a second switching frequency that is different from the first, in such a way that noise having a frequency generated by the superposition of the first switching frequency and the second switching frequency is produced. The frequency converter circuit is operated in such a way that the frequency of the noise is lower than a first cutoff frequency and/or is higher than a second cutoff frequency.

  • Publication number: 20080305145
Abstract: A demineralized bone matrix is produced by a process in which a bone body is placed in a first processing solution comprising an acid to demineralize the bone body. The bone body is periodically removed from the first solution at specific time intervals to perform at least one test, such as a compression test, on a mechanical property of the bone body. When the test yields a desired result, the bone body is exposed to a second processing solution that is less acidic than the first, thus minimizing the exposure of the bone body to the harsh acidic conditions of the demineralization phase of the process.

  • Patent number: 4569697
Abstract: Relatively dense, photovoltaic quality amorphous alloys which are characterized by reduced density of defect states in the band gaps thereof and which are particularly suited for use in tandem photovoltaic devices are formed by evaporating amorphous germanium and amorphous silicon in an ultrahigh vacuum environment, diffusing a density of states reducing element into and through the amorphous material, and finally annealing the resultant amorphous alloy to complete the diffusion process. The amorphous alloy, so formed, is a substantially contaminant-free, substantially tetrahedrally coordinated material. Fluorine is the preferred density of states reducing element which is added to the amorphous material for reducing the density of states through compensation, and for orbital promotion and expansion.
