    Abstract: A picture archiving and communication system having a number of display units associated therewith is provided with an image display arrangement for simultaneously displaying all of the images of a series of related images. Typically, the number and resolution of the images in a series exceeds the capacity of the display units. Consequently, only a small number of the images may be simultaneously displayed on the display units. To deal with this, the display arrangement of the present invention spatially reduces each image of the series so that all them may be simultaneously displayed on the display units. Thereafter, if the user desires to display one or more of the images in full spatial resolution, then all that the user needs to do is mark those images in a predetermined manner and enter a particular request.
