Abstract: A system for managing requests for setting up computer test environments includes a setup request database storing the test environment setup requests and a request management module which provides a standardized user interface screen to submit the requests. If the request submitted by a user does not contain all of the required information necessary to set up the test environment, the user is prompted to provide the missing information, thereby minimizing a subsequent exchange of communications due to missing information.

Abstract: A system for tracking the testing of a set of software modification projects in an install plan provides a centralized project database where the testers can update their progress of testing software modification projects as they perform the tests. The central database advantageously eliminates the need to contact individual testers of each and every project every time a status report needs to be generated. Instead, a manager can automatically generate status reports which contain the testing progress of particular projects in real-time to more accurately monitor what projects are on track and what projects may be falling behind schedule.

Abstract: A system and method for generating a test environment schedule containing an order of executing job control language (JCL) jobs in a test computing environment is provided. The system comprises a memory which stores a seed schedule containing a plurality of members having common JCL jobs appropriate for different test environments, with each member containing a plurality of JCL jobs in a predetermined order of execution. The memory also stores a parameter file containing parameters for modifying the seed schedule according to a specific test environment. The system also includes an environment schedule module executable by a processor and is adapted to convert the seed schedule to the test environment schedule to be executed in the specific test environment as specified in the stored parameter file.
