Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to the improvement of holders and guards for accepting and securing a writing instrument or stylus or other items, such as lip gloss or hand sanitizer, which is configured to be easily attached to one object and removed, and attached to another object. The improved holder and guard is further configured to allow the writing instrument or stylus or other items to be accessed for its intended purpose without removing it from the holder apparatus, and can also incorporate a separate chain, necklace, bracelet or the like, which is connected to the holder apparatus and can be worn by the user providing a second attachment location.
