  • Patent number: 4745701
Abstract: A fishing device comprising a body and a hook attached to the body. The body has an elongate hollow recess therein for holding a knot on a fishing line and a slot in the outer surface of the body extending generally parallel to the recess and communicating therewith. An entrance is provided to the recess at one end of the slot through which the knot may be inserted into the recess. The recess is sized readily to receive the knot via the entrance with the knot being movable in the recess to a position spaced from the entrance whereby the line extends from the recess outwardly through the slot with the side walls of the slot gripping the line thereby retaining the knot in the recess.

  • Patent number: 4738214
Abstract: A mooring device comprising a base adapted to be fastened to a surface of a dock or boat deck for mooring a boat. An arm extends up from the base generally adjacent one end of the base and converges toward the opposite end of the base thereby to define, in conjunction with the base, a space for retaining a mooring line. The arm converges toward the base to a point where it is relatively closely spaced to the base thereby to form a mouth through which a mooring line may be passed inwardly into the line-retaining space. A finger is provided on the arm adjacent the mouth inclined downwardly and inwardly toward the line-retaining space.

  • Patent number: 4535562
Abstract: The device is generally U-shaped and has first and second side portions and an end portion joining the side portions. The device has a first section near the end portion with a width between the side portions at least as great as the diameter of the line, a second section adjacent the first section with a width between the side portions slightly less than the diameter of the line, and a third section adjacent the second section with a width between the side portions at least as great as the diameter of the line. One end of one side portion opposite the end portion is joined to the hooked item. When the hooked item is a lure, the device is joined to the lure generally at one end thereof and the other end of the device is positioned over the center of gravity of the lure and adapted for securing the line thereto so that when the lure depends from the line it will have a generally horizontal disposition.
