Patent number: 9556948Abstract: An alternator damper pulley for a vehicle includes a pulley body connected to an engine to receive a rotational power from an engine. A shaft connection portion is provided within the pulley body such that a rotational shaft of an alternator is insertedly coupled therein. A torsion spring is installed on an outer circumferential surface of the shaft connection portion to reduce a variation of the rotational power transmitted from the pulley body. A clutch is interposed between the torsion spring and the pulley body to connect or disconnect the shaft connection portion and the pulley body. A friction damper is installed to apply frictional damping force to the shaft connection portion.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2014Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: Hyundai Motor CompanyInventor: Jeyong Yun

Publication number: 20160153520Abstract: A method for protecting a dual mass flywheel (DMF) of a vehicle includes comparing, by a controller, an RPM of a vehicle engine with a threshold value, which is set to avoid a resonance point of the DMF. If the RPM of the engine is less than the threshold value, fuel injection into the engine is shut off to stop the engine by the controller. Whether a fuel injection condition to start the engine is met is determined after the fuel injection is shut off by the controller. If the fuel injection condition is met, the fuel injection into the engine is resumed to start the engine by the controller.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2015Publication date: June 2, 2016Inventors: Jeyong YUN, Junyoumg SHIN

Publication number: 20090301428Abstract: A crankshaft set of a two-cylinder engine that is equipped with a flywheel may include a crankshaft that is mounted on an engine block, a first crank pin that is formed at one end of the crankshaft and is connected to a first piston through a connecting rod, a second crank pin that is formed at the other end of the crankshaft and is connected to a second crank pin through a connecting rod, and a flywheel that is disposed between the first and second crank pins and is integrally formed with the crankshaft. Accordingly, the twist and vibration characteristics are improved because the flywheel is disposed between the adjacent crank pins.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2008Publication date: December 10, 2009Applicants: Hyundai Motor Company, KIA MOTORS CORPORATIONInventors: Byung Chul Lee, Soo Hong Lee, Jeyong Yun
