The loops across the front of the shoulders pull the shoulders back or remind a user to pull the shoulders back for better posture and health.

The device is constructed from a resilient energy-absorbing material such as plastic foam and comprises a generally rectangular planar member which can be cut or stamped from a sheet of plastic foam. One side of the planar member comprises a flap member adapted to be flexed together with corner ends of the side, and held together by a flexible cord to form a cradle section adapted to cradle the knee or elbow when worn and secured thereon by a strap member.

Abstract: This invention relates to a protective device adapted to protect the arms and hands of a driver or operator of an open vehicle such as a motorcycle, etc. The device is constructed from a resilient material, such as a plastic foam, covered with a tough, pliable plastic material or the like, and comprises a tubular member with openings at both ends. One opening is contoured to cradle the wearer's elbow and permit movement of the arm. The other opening comprises a contoured section permitting movement of the wrist of a wearer, and also comprises a flat section which is an extension of the tubular member with a curved end. Suitable fastening means are disposed in the flat section adapted to receive fingers of the hand of the wearer.

The helmets are adapted to be worn on a person's head and have openings therein generally conforming to a person's eyes, ears, nose, mouth and chin. In modifications of the helmet, fixed or removable transparent shield means are mounted across the front openings and hemispherical plate means can be disposed at the top of the helmet. Other modifications of the helmet provide guard means across the front openings, and an additional hard outer protective liner covering the upper part of the helmet.

Straps are also provided for aiding in the retention and for tightening the shoe on the foot of the wearer.

The device is useful particularly when one engages in various contact sports such as karate, boxing and the like. The device comprises wrap-around means made of a tough outer casing with resilient foam means therein, is designed to be detachably retained snugly around the body, and is easily put on or taken off.

Abstract: A unitary flexible protective glove molded of a resilient material and adapted to be easily worn on the hand for use in the art of karate and the like. The basic embodiment of the glove, when worn, covers mainly the back and sides of the hand, the thumb and wrist and is provided with a thickened forward portion. The glove is secured to the hand by an encircling portion around the wrist, a loop portion across the palm of the hand, a forward finger securing portion and thumb portion each comprising strap securing means for the thumb and one or several fingers.Several variations of the basic embodiment provide for modified means for retaining the glove on the hand and also include an encircling portion extending beyond the wrist to a portion of the arm.
