A method for making the electromagnetic shielding layer includes the steps of: (a) providing an electronic element, the electronic element having a surface; (b) fabricating at least one carbon nanotube film; (c) forming a carbon nanotube film structure on the surface of the electronic element; and (d) forming a conductive layer on the carbon nanotube film structure, then obtaining an electromagnetic shielding layer on the surface of the electronic element.
