  • Publication number: 20070086546
Abstract: A baseband receiver using a transition trigger and a method thereof are disclosed. The baseband receiver is provided in a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader in order to receive a pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) signal, and can improve a bit error rate (BER) performance by mapping transition waveforms generated whenever the received signal is triggered on new symbols, and filtering the new symbols to recover to the original symbols. Since no complex and high performance DC drift estimator is required and DC drifts can stably be removed along with white noise among noise components, it is possible to improve BER.

  • Publication number: 20060273881
Abstract: An anti-collision method is provided for a radio frequency identification (RFID) system including a reader, and two or more tags each having an ID. The anti-collision method includes transmitting an ID request value from the reader to the respective tags, the ID request value containing one or more of the codes forming the ID, receiving the ID from at least one of the tags which contain the ID request value, when a plurality of IDs collide, requesting the tags for a value representing a position of collision, and receiving the value representing the position of collision from the tags and identifying the IDs of the tags. Because collision pattern of the bits of respective IDs is recognized, and a plurality of IDs are recognized, the number of transmissions between the reader and the tags can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060232383
Abstract: A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag and a RFID reader for anti-collision, and an operation method thereof are provided. The RFID tag includes a tag receiving part for receiving a tag recognition signal from a RFID reader, a tag transmitting part for transmitting a response signal and a tag data in response to the tag recognition signal, a mode switching part for switching current mode into a predetermined mode, and a controlling part for causing the predetermined mode to be switched by the mode switching part, when the response signal is transmitted by a predetermined number of times by the tag transmitting part. Accordingly, when a few number of RFID tags are used, collision of tag data can be prevented at the RFID reader, and the RFID tags are rapidly recognized.

  • Publication number: 20060208860
Abstract: A wireless terminal and a radio frequency identification system for providing additional information and a method of providing additional information using the wireless terminal and the radio frequency identification system. The wireless terminal includes: a tag reader reading tag data from a radio frequency identification tag; a controller generating an additional information request signal with respect to the read tag data; and a communication network interface transmitting the additional information request signal through a communication network and receiving additional information with respect to the additional information request signal. Since the controller of the wireless terminal controls the radio frequency identification reader by optimally setting the information required for determining the time point for the radio frequency identification reader tag to respond, and utilizing the stored address of the additional information providing server, the additional information can be efficiently provided.
