  • Publication number: 20040164486
Abstract: A document sheet conveying unit of the invention comprises a casing in which are mounted an active roller, a plurality of idle rollers, and at least a guide element. The idle rollers are mounted in a manner to be respectively in circumferential contact with the active roller. The guide element is mounted proximate to one of the idle rollers, and has a guide surface with a prolonged plane that is tangent with the corresponding idle roller at its contact point with the active roller. The guide surface thereby orients and guides the document sheet to adequately engage through the active roller and corresponding idle roller. Jam of the document sheet is therefore prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040000752
Abstract: A document guiding device for a document feeder. The document guiding device mainly comprises an inner wall, an outer wall and a lubricating element. The spatial area between the outer wall and the inner wall form a reversing passageway that accommodates a transiting document. The reversing passageway has a document inlet end and an outlet end both positioned on the same side of the document guiding device. The lubricating element is attached to the interior surface of the outer wall close to the area of contact between the front end of the document and the bend of the outer wall. The lubricating element facilitates the forward movement of the document so that the document is able to travel smoothly from the inlet to the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20030227126
Abstract: A sensor for detecting the entrance of a document into a sheet feeder. The document sensor is attached to the sheet feeder. The document sensor comprises a printed circuit board, a key peg and a rocking lever. The printed circuit board is attached to the sheet feeder. The printed circuit board has a first lead wire and a second lead wire detached form each other. The key peg is also attached to the sheet feeder pinning the rocking lever so that the rocking lever is free to rotate relative to the key peg. A conductive member is attached to the rocking lever so that rotating the rocking lever is able to establish an electrical connection between the first lead wire and the second lead wire through the conductive member.

  • Patent number: 6651971
Abstract: A paper collecting device, comprising a separation roller, a drive roller, a feed roller, a support member, and an elastic member. In addition to the separation having a one-way clutch, the feed roller also has an extra one-way clutch added between the feed gear and the feed rim. When the paper separation process stops and the separation roller instantaneously reverses rotation, the two one-way clutches will disengage and allow the separation roller and feed roller to detach from the driving source of the motor. This will allow the separation roller and feed roller to rotate freely and possess the same tangential velocity to prevent paper from being pushed or pulled causing paper wrinkle or tear. Moreover, the diameter of the feed rim is smaller in design than the separation rim. The paper collecting device also comprising a paper blocking mechanism located on the support member above the frame to prevent paper overly pushed inside.

  • Publication number: 20030164995
Abstract: A optical device and method for scanner that includes at least a concave mirror, a image device, a stop and a image adjusting module. The concave mirror is with a reflecting surface to focus light and reflect said light to a pre-determined route. The image device can receive the light reflected from at least a concave mirror and convert the light into digital signal. Said stop is on the light traveling route between the image device and at least a concave mirror to reject the extra light. The said image adjusting module is used to adjust the image formed by at least one of the said concave mirrors. The method of adjusting the scanned image will multiply the scanned image by a 2-dimensional enlarging value, said method also cover adjusting the MTF value of the image that near the two ends of the object being scanned.
