  • Publication number: 20070218354
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lithium secondary battery having improved life characteristics by removal of metal ion impurities incorporated during an assembly process of the battery via a cation exchange process, thereby preventing electrodeposition of the metal ions on an anode, through the addition of a cation exchange material, containing cations selected from the group consisting of lithium, sodium, ammonium and any combination thereof, to an electrode and/or a surface of a separator.

  • Publication number: 20070190420
Abstract: Provided is a non-aqueous electrolyte-based, high-power lithium secondary battery having a long service life and superior safety at both room temperature and high temperature, even after repeated high-current charging and discharging. The battery comprises a mixture of a lithium/manganese spinel oxide having a substitution of a manganese (Mn) site with a certain metal ion and a lithium/nickel/cobalt/manganese composite oxide, as a cathode active material.

  • Publication number: 20070054157
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a secondary battery having a mechanical connection sensor, as a safety device, fixed to the outer surface of a prismatic or pouch-shaped battery cell while the mechanical connection sensor is set to OFF. The mechanical connection sensor is connected in series with a resistor having a predetermined resistance value and with a cathode and an anode of the battery cell. When the battery cell swells to a critical value or more due to the abnormal operation of the battery cell, the mechanical connection sensor is turned ON, and therefore, the mechanical connection sensor conducts with the result that the electrical energy of the battery cell is consumed at the resistor. In the secondary battery having the safety device according to the present invention, when the battery swells due to the abnormal response of the battery, energy accumulated in the battery is forcibly consumed, unlike a conventional battery that merely intercepts the current.

  • Publication number: 20060033668
Abstract: The present invention relates to an internal antenna for a mobile handset comprising: a feeding pin for power supply; an upper radiating patch connected to the feeding pin, having a first upper patch portion and a second upper patch portion, which receive power supply from the feeding pin and resonate at different frequency bands respectively; a side radiating patch receiving power supply from the feeding pin, extended along the side of the upper radiating patch and vertically apart from the upper radiating patch by certain distance; and a short pin, one end of which is in contact with the upper radiating patch and the side radiating patch and the other end of which is grounded. According to the present invention, a bandwidth to be used can be broadened without increasing space for a general small size dual band Planar Inverted F Antenna PIFA.
