The method includes sensing a user's gesture requesting a capture panel, and displaying the entire capture panel, which was partially displayed at a side of a screen or was hidden, according to the user's gesture requesting the capture panel. The capture panel displays a list of capture data including an image and meta data corresponding to each of at least one content captured by the mobile terminal.

Abstract: A method of providing information, performed by a mobile terminal, is provided. The method includes sensing a user's gesture requesting a panel, and causing the panel to appear from at least one from among a left side, a right side, and a bottom side of a screen and then displaying the panel on the screen, according to the user's gesture requesting the panel. The panel includes at least one from among a share panel including a list of identification information of one or more external devices, a capture panel including a list of capture data, and a recommending panel including recommend contents.

The method includes sensing a user's gesture requesting the mobile terminal to capture at least one content, selecting a type of content to be captured, based on a time period that the user's gesture requesting the mobile terminal to capture at least one content is maintained for or a number of times that the user's gesture requesting the mobile terminal to capture at least one content, and capturing the selected type of the content. The type of the content includes internal content to be reproduced in the mobile terminal, and external content from outside the mobile terminal.

The method includes determining whether virtual location information is used when the location-based social network service is requested, obtaining virtual access location information of the portable terminal when it is determined that the virtual location information used, and accessing the location-based social network service using the obtained virtual access location information.

Abstract: A system and method for profile synchronization is provided. The profile synchronization system includes a web server, a synchronization server, and one or more mobile terminals. The web server includes subscriber accounts each containing a subscriber profile and a profile matching table, identifies, when a subscriber profile is changed at the web server, a subscriber profile in the synchronization server corresponding to the changed subscriber profile using the profile matching table, and transmits the changed subscriber profile to the synchronization server. The synchronization server includes a database to store subscriber profiles of the one or more mobile terminals in synchronization with the synchronization server, updates, when a changed subscriber profile is received from the web server, the corresponding subscriber profile, and transmits the changed subscriber profile to the one or more mobile terminals in synchronization.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a phonebook using an image in a portable terminal are provided. The method includes recording contact information in metadata of an image, and performing a linkage function using the image having the contact information recorded therein.
