Patent number: 10789961Abstract: Disclosed is technology for providing a proper UI/UX through various devices or services when occurrence of registered concerned context is predicted or recognized in order to predict or recognize the circumstances that require attention or emotion control with regard to a change in his/her biological information With this, a user designates his/her own biological information range or emotional state with regard to circumstances which catch his/her attention, and registers concerned context by selectively designating attributes of circumstantial elements. Further, a user registers feedback desired to be given and an external device/service desired to interface with when the occurrence of the concerned context is predicted or recognized. According to the attributes of the circumstances designated in the registered concerned context, points in time for collecting and managing UX data are automatically determined, thereby processing and managing the UX data as useful information.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2018Date of Patent: September 29, 2020Assignee: ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH INSTITUTEInventors: Kyoung Ju Noh, Ji Youn Lim, Ga Gue Kim, Seung Eun Chung, Hyun Tae Jeong

Patent number: 6985273Abstract: Disclosed is an electro-absorption optical modulator using a semiconductor device. The optical modulator makes use of a change in light absorption caused by displacement of an absorption curve depending on a bias voltage applied to the device. Here, a level of the light absorption depending on the bias voltage is expressed as a transfer function of output light to the applied bias, and the transfer function has a non-linear profile due to a characteristic of a material. Unlike signal modulation of a digital optical communication system, an analog optical transmission system can be subjected to deterioration in performance, because the non-linear characteristic of the transfer function for the optical modulator generates signal distortion when an electrical signal is converted into an optical signal. The typical optical modulator has an absorption layer constituted of quantum wells having the same width.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2003Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Assignee: Electronics and Telecommunications Research InstituteInventors: Young Shik Kang, Je Ha Kim, Ji Youn Lim, Sung Bock Kim
