    Abstract: Disclosed is a modified carbonaceous material, which includes hexagonal carbon networks in a layered stacking structure and acidic functional groups bonded to the hexagonal carbon networks and mainly existing at edges of the layered carbonaceous structure. Accordingly, the close proximity of acid moiety at the edges can resemble the center of hydrolysis enzymes, resulting in enhancement of hydrolytic efficiency. Additionally, the acid-functionalized carbonaceous material can also be applied in the capture and storage of carbon dioxide due to its unexpectedly higher capacity for CO2 molecular.

The testing system includes a mechanical loading device, a heating device, a lithium-ion battery tester and a measuring device. By comparing the influence of a combined use of two or more of mechanical abuse with two different fixed variables, thermal abuse, and electrical abuse on critical conditions of thermal runaway of the lithium-ion battery, the influence of the different forms of abuse on the critical conditions of thermal runaway of the lithium-ion battery can be compared qualitatively and quantitatively, and these data can also be used to determine the safe operating windows of the lithium-ion battery under different abuse conditions.

    Abstract: A lift lock for blind is disclosed to include a shaft pivoted to a headrail of a blind for synchronous rotation with a lift rod of the blind. The shaft has a constraint device. A switching mechanism is mounted inside the headrail of the blind and has a sliding member movable between a locking position and an unlocking position. The sliding member has an engagement device, which engages the constraint device to stop the shaft from rotary motion when the sliding member moved to the locking position, or is disengaged from the constraint device for enabling the shaft to be rotated with the lift rod when the sliding member moved to the unlocking position. And, a control mechanism has a pull rod for pulling by the user to switch the switching mechanism between the locking position and the unlocking position.

    Abstract: An inspection apparatus and method is provided for inspecting external lead connectors in a grid array of an electronic package. The inspection apparatus includes a plurality of reflecting devices for directing a plurality of different oblique images to a partially reflective beam splitter, wherein each of the plurality of images corresponds to a different perspective view of the grid array. The apparatus is further configured such that each of the plurality of images share a single, common X,Y coordinate system for describing point locations within each image. An image capturing device captures each oblique image from the beam splitter. By comparing the relative location of image points in at least two captured images, the spatial coordinates and physical parameters of each solder ball may be calculated. The calculated values are converted to absolute values and compared against predetermined values for determining whether the electronic package meets manufacturing standards.

    Abstract: The invention is directed to a stable catalytic and aqua-activated polyurethane bandage used for orthopedic casting. The bandage has a substrate and an aqua-activated polyurethane prepolymer. The catalyst used to make the prepolymer is .alpha.-(morpholinopolyethoxy)-.beta.-morpholinoethane or the mixture of .alpha.-(morpholinopolyethoxy)-.beta.-morpholinoethane and cocatalyst bis-(2-dimethylaminoethyl) ether. The catalyst in this bandage can be optionally combined with a stabilizing agent, such as ethane-sulfonic acid to form a structurally stable complex. The catalyst of this invention provides an excellent solidification time and significantly prolongs the storage period of the bandage.
