    Abstract: A network device includes an advanced physical layer (APL) port physical layer (PHY) and a hybrid interface circuit. The APL PHY is coupled to a hybrid interface. The hybrid interface is configured to couple to an instrument device. The hybrid interface circuit is coupled to the hybrid interface. The hybrid interface circuit is compatible with a power over data line (PoDL) mode, an analog input (AI) mode, and an analog output (AO) mode. In the PoDL mode, a power supply supplies power to the instrument device. In the AI mode, the power supply supplies power to the hybrid interface. In the AO mode, a voltage is converted into a current corresponding to a control signal of the instrument device.

    Abstract: A railway self-generating express freight car bogie has a wheel-axle assembly, frame, journal box suspension device, bolster, foundation brake, side bearing, empty/load auto-adjustment equipment, central suspension device, longitudinal traction device, vertical damper and lateral damper. An axle-end generator is connected at the outer end of an axle of the wheel-axle assembly, the rotor part of the axle-end generator is connected to the end bearing of the wheel-axle assembly by the axle-end bolts, and the stator part is connected to the mount of the journal box suspension devices. The bogie is designed according to the zero-wear concept, and a large number of rubber components and hydraulic dampers are used to improve the lateral stability, linear stability and curve passing performance of the car, so that the bogie is highly adaptable to railway lines, and can meet the operating requirements within 160 km/h and reduce the workload of bogie operation and maintenance.

    Abstract: Disclosed is application of emodin in inhibiting amyloid ?-protein (A?) accumulation, improving cognitive and memory abilities, and reducing senile plaques. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease which is characterized in that nerve cell fibers are entangled. A? plaques are deposited, and a cognitive function is impaired to a pathological feature, and extracellular toxicity accumulation of A? is considered as one of main links of AD pathogenesis. In the present invention, it is discovered that emodin can obviously inhibit accumulation of an A?42 monomer and formation of fibers and inhibit formation of a ? secondary structure, can improve spatial memory learning ability of an AD mouse, and can obviously clear amyloid plaques in APP/PS1 double-transpenic AD model mouse brain tissues. It shows that emodin can be applied to treatment of AD, and research and development of related medicaments.

    Abstract: A hierarchical multiscale fibrous scaffold comprises multiple patterned layers of microfibers with one or more layers of nanofibers interleaved therebetween. In a method for making such scaffolds, electrodeposition or near-field electrospinning is used to deposit patterned layers of microfibers in a stack. Conventional electrospinning is used to deposit nanofibers on the layers of microfibers. The method may be used to tune the mechanical properties of the scaffold, facilitated by microfibers, and the biological features of the scaffold, facilitated by nanofibers. Scaffolds produced by such a process may have highly biomimetic architectures, and allow rapid cellular infiltration and sustainable cell growth for multiple tissue types.
